The coldest room in the house is the basement. This room is ground-level and can get cold. If you set the thermostat temp to 75 or 95, it won’t ever reach those temps due to the tall a-frame ceilings. Please be mindful of the amount of energy being used and turn it off when not in use. ***Bring your own firewood to use in the wood-burning fireplace in the basement will help heat that floor ***Make sure to bring warm clothes IN THE SUMMER: Please note that due to the house not being insulated, as it’s a cabin built in 1971, our central AC only works so well. To properly cool the bedrooms, please make sure vents are open and close the doors to trap in the cool air. Use the Upstairs “Quite Cool” vent to dispel any trapped heat, as that top floor can get hot. Using that and the AC at the same time will produce the best results. To help cool the main living spaces, please open windows and doors in the evenings (but turn AC off) to produce the best results. The coldest room in the house is the basement. This room is ground-level and will stay cool even on the hottest nights. If you set the thermostat temp to 55 or 60, it won’t ever reach those temps due to the tall a-frame ceilings and open concept house. Please always be mindful of the amount of energy being used and turn it off when not in use. **We always have extra portable fans in the house to keep cool. Registration Details CESTRP-2021-01289
