22 - The Old Workshop Most na Soci - Tolmin

A large house, in an elevated position, converted from the Old Car Work Shop. Close to a beautiful lake (500m walk) a riverside bar/cafe (350m walk), and a small supermarket (200m walk). Also close by walking is a fantastic pizzeria (450m) and Sterk restaurant up on the hill (650m) both with seating and lovely views across the river. HOT TUB is only available for bookings of 1 week or more and not available during July and August The space The Old Work Shop is a newly renovated house, with modern touches. It has high ceilings, original floorboards. Our house is situated less than 10 minutes walk to the beautiful lake, where you can do open water swimming, kayaking and padal boarding. A little further, within 2km walking is the train station + restaurant. Here you can take the open top car train through the mountains to Lake Bled. There are also a couple more bars as you walk around the lake. GROUND FLOOR Entrance to lounging area, with large TV, and comfy seating for 12, with almost one side covered by glass. A modern kitchen, and dining area, with large oak dining table, with seating for 11. Some of the kitchen has a glass floor, looking onto many varieties of seasoned logs. Large ground floor bathroom. FIRST FLOOR With bedrooms having feature walls, of queens green...1 twin room, 1 single and room, and one large master bedroom with wooden floor boards and victorian style decorative tiles, and a door to a large terrace, a family shower room. Air conditioning is on the landing of the first floor. Please note this is the new style eco friendly heat pump system, and the ambient temperature will be constantly set at 20 degrees. SECOND FLOOR Bedrooms with feature walls of navy blue, 1 single room, 1 double, and one large master bedroom, with a wrap around terrace, large family shower room. Air conditioning is on the landing of the second floor - sleeping areas. Please note this is the new style eco friendly heat pump, which serves two houses. There is a wood fired 6/8 seater hot tub, which is available September to June (July and August not available) for bookings of 1 week or more. You must book this in advance. We consider our house unsuitable for small children and toddlers, due to the the large number of stairs (3 levels). BEDS All of our beds are IKEA beds, with medium to firm mattresses. Parking - there is room for 2/3 cars at the side of house, although it is quite steep.Please do not use the parking in front of the school... you will get a ticket. SUSTAINABILITY Our Renovations.. When carrying out our renovations of our old properties, we have kept many of the original features. In our house in Most na Soci, we have made a 20,000 euros investment in the latest technology for efficient heating - air source heating. Our Furnishings including Bed Linen Where possible, all furnishings have been up-cycled, reupholstered, or sourced sustainably. We have sourced 95% of our bed linen from companies that are committed to a sustainable supply and manufacturing process. We do wash all our bedlinen at 60 degrees (since Covid). RUBBISH AND RECYCLING Slovenia has been named one of the greenest countries in the world. Everyone who lives here plays their part in helping this cause. When you come to Slovenia, you also need to acknowledge your responsibilities like the residents, and follow the countries rules regarding recycling. These are not just our house rules. Please play your part by contributing to recycling your rubbish in the different bins. Further instructions are on the fridge (there is no rubbish collection for recyclable items). CANCELLATION POLICY We have a no cancellation policy, as usually our bookings are at least 6 months in advance as it takes longer for groups to plan and book. However, if you need to cancel after booking, and we are able to rebook it, we will give you a full refund, although you may still have to pay Airbnb fees, but there will not be any charges from us. Guest access All areas (but not the grass area at the side of the house, as that belongs to the house in front). Other things to note No smoking. The garden is not enclosed, and therefore not suitable for toddlers. There are also lots of stairs with wide bannisters, so again not suitable for toddlers. The fire station is opposite, but it is usually a very quiet station. The train runs through the mountains in backdrop. You can hear these in the distance, there are about 10 trains per day. They are too far away for you to see... Tourist tax is an extra payable at 2.5 euros per person per night (2025 government rate).
