One side of the building faces an inner yard and the imponent chain of Amalfi Mountains, while the opposite an urban panorama with a partial view of the sea, Sorrento cliffs and a faraway contour of Capri... Property is located conveniently between Pompeii and Sorrento Coast, 1.3km from the seaside, a short ride from city center & 10 min. walk to the Vesuvian train that links directly Naples with Sorrento (Circumvesuviana line 1). Want to avoid dense traffic during your stay? Park safely in the estate and hop onto the Circumvesuviana to reach Pompeii ruins (8 min.) and other famous sites as Herculaneum, Vesuvius, Naples (39 min.), Sorrento along with the closeby coastal towns (15 -25 min. It is one of the many - at the time - sumptuous summer residences built by ancient Romans on the hills of the nowadays Castellammare di Stabia city. So far, only two of these numerous residences have been excavated and opened to the public so if you're coming by car and have 1h free during your day, make sure you do not miss the opportunity of witnessing the beauty of the locations our roman ancestors favoured for the enjoyment of the pleasures of life! Entrance is free of charge. Sorrento brings to every local's mind a famous song rooted in the traditional Neapolitan music named "Torna a Surriento" (-Return to Sorrento- traditionally performed by the renowned Belle Epoque Italian tenor, Enrico Caruso). One day, while window shopping in a local flee market we came across this funky vinil player and a collection of original LP's with Italian & international singles. And here they are! Some are obviously a bit scratched and hence sound odd, but you can get that vintage feel too..! If you prefer use this player as loudspeakers for your music (memory card slot or Bluetooth). You will rest on a sleeper sofa of a French bed size (140cm / 55"). The memory foam topper will make you forget it's actually a couch. You'll also find here the necessary peace and privacy to focus on remote work if you need. This lively boulevard with a wonderful Vesuvius panorama stretches all along the public beach recently enabled for bathers and equipped with showers, changing rooms and toilets. You can either rent a sundeck or bring your own blanket/towel and relax while lying on the grass (Yes! The city seashore extends far away from salted water which is why a vast part of it is covered by grass and other local vegetal species under extinction!). ➣ For guests willing to enjoy the sea we suggest reaching either the closest coastal towns VICO EQUENSE, SEIANO, META (by train) or drive to any of the free beach coves (i.e. Bagni di Pozzano, La Palombara) & private beach clubs located along the coastal motorway called La Panoramica such as Bagni Elena, Lido Conte S.a.s., Lido Lo Scoglio, Terme Scrajo... This is where proper Sorrento Coast bays with crystal clear waters start. ➣ If you want to embark on a full day Amalfi Coast boat tour or take a ferry to Capri from Castellammare port, we suggest going there by car or taking the train (2 stops). From central Castellammare di Stabia train station walk around 10 min. to the seaport. If you might be interested in renting a private boat to enjoy a snorkellling experience and the best sea views, reach us out - we'll put you in contact with trusted local skippers offering competetively priced daily cruises to the most exclusive locations of the area (Capri island - Faraglioni & Blue Grotto, Positano, Nerano Bay, Sorrento Coast). ➣ Several groceries with fresh, local products and a takeaway pizzeria are at 100-400 mts from the condo gate. For a few euros indulge yourself with a croissant, hot waffle, pancakes or a traditional deep-fried donut called "graffa" served with a choice of creamy fillings. *** PUBLIC TRANSPORT*** The Vesuvian railway has frequent connections throughout the day, it is faster and more reliable than local buses. The closest train stop is PIOPPAINO 750 mts from the house. You can buy tickets at the station or through GoEav app. You'll need to take a short, but steep slope (a bridge over the rails) and some steps to reach the platforms, so if you carry heavy bags please bear that in mind. The shortcut leading to/from the station is a one way paved road with a few small condos, houses and a fenced area once belonging to a local soda factory. It does not operate anymore so this part of the street has fallen into disuse. Another street with sidewalk that goes around the neighborhood is the slightly longer alternative way to the station (Via Don Bosco & Viale Don Bosco).
