Home to a 400 acre nature reserve and our (very popular) natural spa facilities - we can't wait to show you around! Located in the heart of Grade II listed Sawcliffe Manor, if you'd like a slice of history, and a chance to relax with countryside views, this it the stay for you. Located on a farm, with a 400 acre nature reserve on it, it’s also home to our very popular natural spa facilities and an archery range. We can't wait to show you around! • Your Cottage • Rose Cottage is a semi-detached cottage, adjacent to our ancient Manor house, and our famous 'natural spa' - both of which are open to guests. It features, a large farmhouse kitchen with AGA range and dining for 7. A living room that dates back to Tudor times, with original stone windows, oak beams and an inglenook fireplace with a wood-burning oven (plus a Netflix TV). Surrounded by a beautiful 18th century walled garden complete with heritage fruit trees, BBQ and dining area, Rose Cottage has two double bedrooms and a huge bathroom with freestanding bath for two, and walk-in waterfall shower. • Booking our Natural Spa: Hot Tubs, Saunas • Our natural spa facilities (which is where the hot tubs & saunas on our listing are located) are extremely popular with our guests, and located a 30 second walk from Rose Cottage. We have sessions available to pre-book at 11am, 2pm and 5.30pm. All of our spa sessions are available for private use, so they are not shared with other guests. To assist you with your arrival and checkin, we'll send you a URL link to our Guest App immediately after your booking. You can use our Guest App to find out useful information about the property, local recommendations, to add the Sauna to your stay and to access the property. • Online Checkin • All guests are asked to complete a short online checkin prior to receiving access to the property. You will also be asked to read and sign our rental agreement, submit a copy of your ID and submit a refundable security deposit. • Availability & Checkin • You can arrive at your leisure from 4pm onwards. Self-check-in is available for all guests and we'll send you the access codes on the morning of your checkin via a custom built Guest App (we'll send you a URL link). • Provided • Your room comes equipped with bedding, fresh cotton peshtemal towels, tea, coffee, mini-bar fridge with snacks/drinks for purchase and a Netflix TV. • Dogs & Families • We are a family and dog friendly establishment (as is our spa). A travel cot can be added for families. • Parking • We have free parking available on our farm for up to 3 cars and 6 bicycles. • Gift Shop • We have a small gift shop on the farm where you can buy drinks, snacks and cosmetics for our natural spa. We also have a selection lovely handcrafted gifts from all over the UK and Europe. Come and have a nosey! • Getting in touch with us • Our Guest App also has a chat and whatsap function so that you can ask us anything and phone us anytime (even when we are on the fields with our sheep). We're also available on the phone, but we cannot take any payments over the phone, on-site or in cash. All payments are handled online. • Extending your stay: Early Checkins/Late Checkouts • To make the most of your stay, we recommend booking a private spa session before your checkin, at 2pm, or after your checkout time, at 11am. This is a lovely way to extend your stay by 2 hours, especially if you're with us for one night. • Private Spa Sessions • Our spa is is 100% natural, using wood-fire and fresh-water, it's a uniquely beautiful spa experience. Don't worry, if you're travelling with children, infants, pregnancies or dogs, we offer spa variations, adapted for your needs, so that you can enjoy the spa together. → Cleopatra Milk & Flower Hot Tub Ritual – 2 hours This is a totally private spa session, available just for you at 10.30am, 12.30pm, 2pm, 4pm or 6.30pm. This ritual takes us two and a half hours to prepare and includes our signature milk-and-flower hot tub and Estonian iglu sauna. It can be adapted for vegan, pregnancy, child, infant or dog-friendly use. Perfect for romantic getaways or small groups wanting a peaceful, unhurried moment of luxury. Settle back in our kimonos and flip-flops, enjoy natural facemasks and oils afterwards, and perhaps a mocktail from our drinks menu. Grazing boards and afternoon teas are also available to complete the experience. Pricing: 2–6 guests: £60 per guest (daytime session) → Twilight Natural Spa Experience – 3 hours Our Twilight Spa is for those who like to linger into the evening. This private three-hour session takes 7 hours to prepare — but it’s worth every moment. You’ll have full private use of all facilities: the iglu sauna, hot tubs, wooden hot tub, chapel rest area and countryside sunset views. Adaptable for vegan, child (9+ years) and dog-friendly groups, it’s a beautiful choice for special occasions or larger gatherings. After your soak, drift into calm with soft facemasks and natural oils, still wrapped in your kimono and flip-flops. Sip a chilled mocktail and share a grazing board as the evening settles in before sneaking back to your stay. Pricing: £15/guest. Timings: 6am-11am delivery to the Manor's kitchen. → 3 Course Evening Meal Hamper Yummy pies and creamy chocolate fondants, we've even sourced a delicious Great Taste Award winning cheese selection from Mary's cows at Cote Hill Farm (2km from Sawcliffe). Perfect for after a long drive, or a spa session. Chose from our menu and we'll deliver it in hampers for you to enjoy. Pricing: from £16/guest Timings: 5.30pm delivery (ready for oven). → Afternoon Tea Hamper & Decorations Available to book a 'surprise' at checkin, our afternoon tea includes cream cakes and all sorts of delicious treats. We'll even include vintage tea-ware and a few surprises of our own. Pricing: £19/guest. Timings: 12 noon-4pm → Grazing dome Perfect as a light after spa treat, or something to look forward to after a long drive. Tuck into tapas, local cheeses, dips and goodies. Pricing: £19/guest. Timings: 12 noon-7pm • Booking Archery & Axe Throwing • We have an archery and axe throwing range on the farm. Lessons are subject to the availability of Reg, our bush-craft teacher. We recommend booking in as early as you can to avoid disappointment. Archery lesson: £30/guest, minimum 4 guests, or £120 for 1-4 guests. Bonfire & axe throwing evening: £35/guest, minimum 4 guests, or £140 for 1-4 guests. To book these lessons, let us know when making your booking. • Getting to us • Less than 2 hours from Manchester, 1 hour from Sheffield, and 40 mins from Hull, Sawcliffe Manor is the perfect escape for guests looking for a unique countryside getaway. It is also a 10 min taxi journey from the local train station in Scunthorpe with easy connections across the country including London & Newcastle. • Refundable Security Deposit • As we have mini-bars and items for sale, guests are required to preauthorise a security deposit via a credit or debit card 24 hours before checkin. This preauthorisation will be managed using the Guest App that will be sent to you immediately after booking. It will be automatically be returned to you 2-4 days after checkout. • Why do we hold a Security Deposit? • Unfortunately, we have been victims of large scale theft in the past. As a result, we are now required by our insurers to hold security deposits with guests. Don't worry, the reasonable and normal use of the property will not result in any additional charges. • What is the Security Deposit used for? • Unpaid mini-bar consumption, unpaid extra guests, unpaid dog fees, unexpected additional cleaning (including, but not limited to bodily fluids) and the extremely unlikely event of property damage or theft. Guest access • Your Private Cottage • Guests will have private access to Rose Cottage. Please note that Rose Cottage is a semi-detached cottage alongside Sawcliffe Manor, which is also open to guests and large groups. We have 4 properties open to guests on our farm, so it is a social space. • Hot Tubs & Saunas • The wooden hot tub, sauna & copper milk hot tubs featured on our listing photos is part of our 'Natural Spa Facilities'. The use of our spa is not included in your Airbnb booking price, but you can book our spa, and other extras really easily. Just let us know and we'll pencil you in. • The Nature Reserve • We're lucky enough to have a 400 acre nature reserve on our doorstep with wild exmoor ponies roaming on it. A short drive from our accommodation, it offers extensive walks and extremely beautiful vistas. It is a short 2 min drive to access the Nature Reserve. Other things to note • Sleeping Arrangements • You may have noticed that our pricing is 'per guest' - so the more guests added to your booking the higher the booking cost per night. This is called 'per guest' pricing. Please keep in mind that beds and bedding will be prepared for the exact number of guests on your booking to reflect this pricing structure. In Rose Cottage will will prepare: Bookings of 1-2 guests: 1 double bed Bookings of 3-4 guests: 2 double beds Bookings of 5 guests: 2 doubles, 1 single sofabed* Bookings of 6-7 guests: 2 doubles, 1 single sofabed*, 1 double sofabed* If you'd like to spread out and add additional beds just let us know and we'll add extra bedding for you: £30/extra bed. This covers the additional laundry and cleaning time for the additional bedding. Just let us know before your arrival and we'll be happy to prepare it for you. *Ps. For your comfort, if you're a larger group, sofa-bed bedding will be prepared and waiting for you in trunks and baskets (so that you can use the sofas comfortably during the day). • Mini bars • As we have mini-bars in our rooms, we require a preauthorised credit or debit card on file before checking you into the Manor to pay for room consumption. You will be sent a secure link prior to arrival to submit your card details online. • Families & Dog Owners * The Manor is family and dog friendly (as is our spa) and a travel cot is available for families. • Travelling with Dogs • The following dog fees are applicable to your booking if you're travelling with dogs: Small dogs: £15/night/dog: Miniature breed like a dachshund. Under 8kg or 1.25 stone. Medium dogs: £18/night/dog: Spaniel size or cockapoo size. Under 15 kg, or 2.3 stone. Large dogs: £20/night/dog: Labrador size upwards. Over 15 kg, or 2.3 stone. Puppies under the age of 18 months: Are not permitted on the property due to property damage risk. If you are travelling with a dog, you must let us know about your pets during the online checkin process on your Guest App. You will be asked "are you travelling with any pets". If you answer "yes" - we will send you a link to add and pay for your dog via your custom Guest App.
