Madragoa Flat/Historic district/ downtown area

Madragoa is a charming quarter with lovely pedestrian streets that belong to SANTOS historic district. You will be surrounded by churches, convents and beautiful tiled buildings. Other old quarters like Bica, Chiado, Bairro Alto, Cais Sodré and Baixa are all in walking distance. f you are a foodie, you will definitely love this area where many expats have also chosen to live. The space Registered at the Portuguese Tourism Office (AL/2846), this flat is located in Madragoa, a quarter that is similar to Bairro Alto in many ways (labyrinthine streets, charming old buildings, many traditional restaurants and cafés) but is far less touristy. You can easily walk anywhere you like in central Lisbon from this place - Baixa, Bica, Chiado, Bairro Alto - and the walk will be pleasant and beautiful. This typical quarter from Santos neighborhood, is located among Cais do Sodré, Lapa, São Bento and Bica. It used to be a fisherman’s neighborhood and it has a strong fado tradition. It feels like a small village inside Lisbon, where kids are still free to play on the street and people take care of each others. FULLY EQUIPPED APARTMENT FOR 5 - Free Wi-Fi. You will also find maps and lot’s of touristic leaflets in the apartment, Guest access You have it all in the area: buses like 727, 278 and 729, trams 15, 25 and 28, the train and Cais do Sodré subway station which is in 15 minutes walking distance. If you arrive by car, I can show you the free parking streets but during the week sometimes it's not easy finding a place. But you can always the public parking lot where leaving your car for the nigh will cost around 8 euros. During summer, parking for free on the strets it's a lot easier. Other things to note Second floor with no elevator. Not so good for old people although old people also live on the second floor. If you walk fine, it’s not a big deal. When you leave to the airport, I can call you a taxi in case you dont speak portuguese. Just tell me at what time you need it an will book it for you. I can also book you a fado restaurant.
