Newbiggin-by-the-Sea is a small friendly village, once renowned for its fishing. It also has a cliff top golf course and the oldest lifeboat house in England, with its Maritime Heritage Centre, housing the old lifeboat and museum, and a cafe with lovely views over the bay. Morpeth, a pretty historic town, is 8 miles and has an abundance of tea rooms, pubs and shops. The Northumberland National Park, Druridge Bay, Farne Islands, Holy Island, and Alnwick Castle and Gardens are all easily accessed.
