We thoroughly enjoy the French way of life..... however winters can be quite cold which prompted us to spend the winter months travelling in Portugal on our campingcar. We eventually discovered Alvor and liked the little town so much that we purchased "Casa Palmeiras" in 2017 and now spend our winters there. We enjoy being within walking distance of the beach, shops, bars and restaurants.....completely different to our life in rural France where we need to take the car every day.
