Description

A unique Georgian Manor renovated to a high standard with 9 ensuite bedrooms, set in 25 acres of Wiltshire countryside near Stonehenge & Salisbury. Dining room for up to 24, hot tub, playground, pool table & walled garden. Sleeps 5 to 20. Further 2 bedrooms at extra cost for up to 24 guests. Explore Wiltshire, Hampshire, Dorset & Somerset as almost equidistant to Bath, Marlborough, Winchester, Southampton & Shaftesbury. See below for attractions a 5 to 45 min drive. The space A charming house with 9 bedrooms upstairs (sleeps 20), each with their own private bathroom. A 10th bedroom, with an ensuite, can be created on the ground floor for an extra cost. A self-contained annex at the back of the house, with a kitchen, sitting room, bedroom and ensuite bathroom, can be let for an extra cost. Cots and a toddler bed are available. Eclectic, English country decor with generous ground floor living spaces including a large kitchen that centres around the old Aga, a drawing room, a dining room (seating for 5 to 24 people), a sitting room, a library with a private bathroom and shower (for people or dogs!), a laundry room and a basement games room. There are extensive private gardens including a lovely walled "secret garden" next to the house with a large lawn area for sunbathing, reading and relaxing. There is a hot tub beside the house with views to the fields, and it’s open all year. "The Glade" sits behind an old Yew tree perfect for climbing, and it is a hidden playground for children with a trampoline, swings, sandpit, playhouse and picnic area. Nestled between the driveway hedges and the walled garden, the Glade would go unnoticed by those visiting without children. A 1.5km woodland path, the "Groggie Way", has been created behind the house and is suitable for walking, wheelchairs, bicycles, etc. It passes the old tennis court, which is past its prime but can be used for casual hits, or for children to ride bikes and scooters. The front of the house has a large flat lawn which can be used for cartwheels, sprinting races and other games. Equipment supplied includes two large football nets, cricket set, croquet set, giant Jenga, mini golf and more. There is a basement with a snooker/pool table and toys/books for younger children. You will be able to access the entire house. There are large gardens around the house. There are tenants in some smaller properties around the estate, including The Annexe attached to the rear of the house, but there is sound insulation, and there are no common or shared areas between the Manor House and The Annexe. They each have their own driveway and entrance. No estate tenants have access to the main house or its gardens, which are private and strictly for the main house guests. It is marked clearly where property is private and where the boundaries are for guests. There are stables and a field available for guests wanting to bring a horse, and a pony club for riding and "own a pony" days a short distance from the house. Guest access You will be able to access the entire house. There are large gardens around the house. There are tenants in some smaller properties around the estate, including an Annexe attached to the rear of the house, but there is sound insulation and no other estate tenants have access to the main house or its gardens, which are private and strictly for the main house guests. It is marked clearly where property is private and where the boundaries are for guests. Other things to note There are stables and a field available for guests wanting to bring a horse or pony, which is by separate agreement with the livery. Please enquire. It is sometimes possible to arrange pony rides for guests but requires a disclaimer to be be signed and is negotiated directly with the livery. There is a pony club 2 mins drive away which offers excellent "own a pony" days for beginners or beyond, and also "safaris" on horseback along the Salisbury Plains.
