Description
WARM, COMFORTABLE, AMAZING LOCATION A super-cosy, rural getaway with an unbelievable view, set in the grounds of a medieval manor but feels private. Perfect for a family, a couple, friends. Looks out onto a lake and the downs. 10 mins to the coast, within 30 mins to anywhere on the island - village pubs, seaside towns, foodie restaurants, beaches, adventure parks, castles, cliff-top walks. An incredibly peaceful and restorative haven for 2 to 4 people. A very tranquil yet very handy location. The space As soon as you walk through the door of this single-storey hideaway, you feel drawn in by the attractive and cosy mixture of old beams, cottage windows, subtle styling and a sense of peace. The bedrooms are quiet and comfortable (one double room, one smaller twin room), the bathrooms give glorious hot showers, and the high-beamed living area, which seamlessly combines cooking, eating and lounging space, is enhanced by an incredible view through a picture window. Looking through any of the windows you see a rural idyll -- it's in the middle of nowhere, yet in reach of everywhere. When you're not exploring the many and various pleasures the Isle of Wight has on offer, snug up on the sofa, watch bird-life glide in and out of the bulrushes on the lake, sit outside in the Isle of Wight sun (even in winter this can be possible!), listen to the quiet all around and forget about your cares. It's recently converted so has all mod cons and it really is super-cosy and warm -- tried and tested and loved by all so far! Guest access The cottage is all yours, with a private terrace and outdoor seating Other things to note The private terrace outside is not enclosed. The cottage is tucked in the (large) gardens of the manor house and is orientated to look away from it so that neither you nor people staying in the house feel overlooked by each other. There are sun-blinds for those who want enhanced privacy. You're welcome to wander down to the lake -- it makes good bird-viewing if you sit very quietly! Please note there is no microwave. There is no TV -- there are playing cards, a book of card games, and a box of chequer-board games in the cupboard -- but the Wifi signal is good for streaming onto a laptop or other device. If you want to bring your own Smart TV, please feel free.
