Casa La Sombrera Tenerife
Description
Rural tourism house in Fasnia, Tenerife. House legally authorized by the Exmo Cabildo Insular de Tenerife. License CR-38/4.048 Casa La Sombrera welcomes you to what will be your home while you visit and get to know our beautiful island. The space Maintaining the traditional architecture of the south of the island, Casa La Sombrera is composed of two houses: the "lower house", which protects from the usual wind at some times of the year, was the usual residence of the owners and the one that is now the "upper house" in the 30's was an open space that was used as a dance hall for the entertainment of the neighbors. These dances were held with the collaboration of Ramón Delgado Díaz, the most modern young man in town who had a gramophone with which he animated the peculiar parties. Between the two houses there is a cave, which as was customary, was used as a dwelling, warehouse or cellar. The caves have the advantage of being warm in winter and cool in summer and are still used as a weekend residence. The cave of the La Sombrera house was used in the past as a room for travelers passing through. One of its regular tenants was Nicolás the pack-saddler, who made a living making gear for pack animals, made of canvas, sackcloth and straw, and who used to travel the island from north to south offering his services. At the end of the 90s the house was restored and adapted to the comforts offered by today's world without neglecting the rural aspect. During the restoration, most of the original elements were maintained, thus being able to enjoy ceilings, doors, windows and furniture from the early 20th century. Guest access The house has a front porch, living room, kitchen, two bedrooms, one with a double bed and private bathroom, another with two beds and an adjoining bathroom. At the back of the house is a large patio with a barbecue.
