Sölveig Stay: Shipping Container with Nordic SAUNA

Storage containers converted into a Nordic sauna and living space. Set in the woods half a mile from the sandy south shore of LAKE SUPERIOR. Our two-person occupancy and minimal design are curated to re-focus and re-fresh its inhabitants. Located on 80 acres of private land, you will fall in love with the peace and quiet. Whether you’re looking for a romantic couples getaway, spa weekend, or workspace as a digital nomad, Sölveig Stay was designed to spark creativity and relaxation. The space Sölveig Stay is constructed from a 40 and 20 foot storage container placed in the middle of 80 acres just a half mile from Lake Superior. We are located just 30 minutes from Duluth and 75 minutes from Bayfield, WI. We kept the good parts of sleeping in the middle of the woods and simply added a few key ingredients…think king bed, fireplace, full kitchen, refrigerator/freezer, Starlink WiFi etc. In our opinion, the epitome of a relaxing evening can only be found in one place…a sauna. Which meant leaving a sauna out of our 480 square foot unit was *not* an option. Our state-of-the-art nordic sauna is lined with cedar, has a Wi-Fi enabled HUUM stove (let us know when you’re arriving and we’ll have it hot when you get here!), and a window overlooking a gorgeous, expansive view. Enjoy our luxurious shower and patio cold plunge in-between to maximize your experience. Sölveig Stay isn’t simply a box to sleep in. It's a luxury stay tucked in the outdoors. Come see how much can be experienced in a small space. Guest access Guests have access to the entire building as well as trails throughout the woods. There are signs indicating which trails are on the owners private land and therefore not accessible. Boat access to the Amnicon River is 1/4 mile away and access to a public beach on Lake Superior is 1/2 mile away. Other things to note *If you plan on bringing your furry friend, please pay the pet fee before your arrival or leave your dog at home. We only allow ONE dog to come per stay. Absolutely NO dogs allowed on any of the furniture (bed included) and make sure you pick up around the yard after it. *Being in the country means that we have our own well for water! The water is tested annually by the county and is totally safe and healthy to drink but does at times have a strong sulfur smell. We have a filtration system on to help remove the odor but some days it is worse than others. Running the warm water for a bit may help remove smell.
