Coastal Retreat-LaCosta/Carlsbad: Private Entrance

We invite travelers worldwide to the "Coral Room" with a bright beach vibe with a separate entrance and a private, full bath. You will have access to an covered outdoor kitchen in the backyard/garden hillside for simple meals. We invite you to relax, stroll the hillside garden, and explore beautiful SD & local beach communities. We are a short walk to the Omni Resort. Self-check-in instructions will be given but I still like to know your ETA. The space Our home is restful hideaway in La Costa. In the backyard is a compact but efficient outdoor kitchen on the covered patio beside the garden. There is a keurig, a teapot, a small microwave, toaster oven, mini-frig, hot plate with pot, kitchen necessities, and eating utensils. There are a multitude of tables and chairs for outdoor dining with a firepit and heaters to knock off the chill. We do have three loving dogs (who can be noisy greeters) but I can keep them out of sight if you desire. We are about 4 miles or less from beautiful beaches, restaurants with ocean views, hiking trails, breweries, Legoland, the GIA, the upscale Carlsbad Country Outlet stores, the beautiful Forum shopping experience, seaside shopping in vintage Encinitas and so much more! Besides the beauty and attractions of North County, we are within 40 minutes or so of much more to explore in San Diego—including the museums and theater of Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo or the Wild Animal Park, the Gas Lamp district downtown, Horton Plaza, sports at Petco Park, shopping at Seaport Village, beautiful Coronado Island, the La Jolla Cove, Sea World, the Del Mar Fairgrounds, the Design District in Solana Beach and so much more! Since our home is set up to be a retreat house and garden oasis—to restore, refresh and rejuvenate--we hope you will take advantage of the rest after all that sightseeing! Because we value tranquility, we do not use our TV's except for movies and we have a large library that you may pick from. We hope you will be able to relax and enjoy our private resort-like oasis.. We enjoy lots of sunshine almost year-round with daytime temperature in the 65-75 range. It's cooler at night, of course and we get cool breezes from the ocean. We have patio heaters and outdoor lights so you can enjoy a glass of wine and cheese--just ask and we will happy to accommodate you! A good way to dress in our southern California climate is layers! If you are a family, we have two private rooms downstairs. Inquire about the special rate for both rooms. Guest access Due to Covid concerns, we encourage our guests to enjoy their private room as well as the outdoor spaces, including a several patio tables, lounge chairs, a hillside garden with a prayer and meditation shelter and much more to explore. The patio is equipped with a Keurig for coffee, tea pot for tea, Carlsbad mineral water, as well as snacks and fruit. You may keep some food in our refrigerator During your stay My husband, Don, and I work from home. He is an ordained Presbyterian pastor and an interventionist/recovery coach. I am a writer and spiritual director. Together we co-lead a non-denominational Christian fellowship, Hidden Life Ministries. When we are not hosting guest for AirBNB, we utilize our home as a "Hideaway" to heal the heart. All faiths and traditions are welcome here! We are more than happy to assist you in any way that we can, as time permits, and/or to help you plan your vacation in our beautiful city.
