Your Canadian hosts, Joyce and Bob (Isla residents since 1993), have carefully equipped each suite with everything you need to make you feel at home. Our home is located next door to the casitas. We are happy to meet our guests and answer any questions they might have. When we are not on Isla our full-time housekeeper Leti, who lives right across the street, is there to help. Isla Mujeres is less than 8 km. long and less than 1/2 km. wide so nothing is very far. While the downtown (Centro) area is quite busy and caters to tourists, La Gloria is a friendly local neighbourhood that gives you an authentic Mexican experience in a safe and comfortable environment. Most of our guests enjoy interacting with the local storekeepers and children as they walk to and from school. The local bus route is 1 block away but taxis are readily available on the street at all times of the day and night and are very inexpensive. It costs less than $4.00 and takes less than 5 minutes to travel from Casitas del Mar to Centro. Casitas del Mar is a recipient of the Certificate of Excellence, with Trip Advisor, since 2012.
