QUIET, RELAXING, and AFFORDABLE. When you stay here at "My Cabin In The Mountains," we'd really like you to think of this as "Your" cabin in the mountains. It's a place where you can enjoy a peaceful and relaxing getaway in a quiet, beautiful, and natural setting. Here, you're surrounded by the endless tree canopy of the Nantahala National Forest. Here, you're just a short drive away from 5 of the most beautiful waterfalls in this part of the state. And here, you're just 2 miles north of Dillard, GA, and just 14 miles south of Franklin, NC. The cabin is located in the tiny community of Otto, NC. Getting to the cabin is very easy. There are no steep grades to negotiate and the roads are all paved, except for the last 100 yards or so --- which is hard-packed gravel. The cabin is surrounded by trees and fairly secluded, but it's still less than 1 mile from US Hwy-441. So it's easy to get out and go to any destinations of interest. We are retired and we enjoy sharing our cabin with our old friends, and with our new friends. Our house is just a stone's throw away, and through the woods from the cabin. We are always happy to answer any questions that come up and we're glad to do anything we can to make your stay here memorable. In Franklin to the north, and Dillard and Clayton to the south, you'll find numerous sit-down restaurants, grocery stores, antique shops, main street shopping; and there's a 24-hour Walmart store in Franklin and in Clayton. Our guests consistently say that the outdoor activities they most enjoy are: hiking, waterfall viewing, exploring the small town shops, gem mining, and zip llining. The whole cabin, and the area immediately surrounding it. It's just a 1-minute walk from our house to the cabin. We can communicate in person or by phone, whatever the situation calls for. For the most part, the cabin is surrounded by trees. There is only one house that is close enough to been seen; it is directly across the road from the cabin. You park in the cabin's covered carport, or directly outside the carport on the gravel driveway. There is ample room for two full-size vehicles to park. If you're pulling a trailer with one or two motorcycles, there's room to park it by the carport or down at the start of the driveway.
