Magnolia Cottage

Enjoy the comforts of Magnolia Cottage, while visiting Chico for pleasure or a Wildcat college tour. Relax on the front porch and watch the squirrels race through the trees, or swing in the hammock under the magnolia tree. Gather for a BBQ in the fenced in backyard. This lovingly revamped 1915 Bungalow, full of natural light, has three comfortable bedrooms, two bathrooms and two spacious seating areas. Enjoy cooking in this well equipped kitchen, or walk to local restaurants for an evening out. The space Magnolia cottage, situated on a large corner lot, is in a quiet neighborhood just one mile from Chico State's campus. The interior has been lovingly repainted and decorated to create a very comfortable space to relax and visit with friends while exploring all that Chico has to offer. As you come through the front gate with the jasmine arch, you'll see the large Magnolia tree to your left with a large stand alone hammock underneath. Walking up on the front porch, the Adirondack chairs are in the best place to enjoy a morning coffee or a relaxing glass of wine. Once inside, you'll notice all the natural light as the front two rooms are an open floor plan with windows on two sides. One part of the room is a great place to sit and play board games, chat or read, while the other has two large comfy couches and a large flat screen smart TV. There are new hardwood floors throughout, with several large area rugs to add warmth and comfort. All three bedrooms are filled with natural light. The primary suite has a queen sized sleigh bed and a tub/shower combo. The middle bedroom can also serve as a workspace, complete with a queen size sofa bed and a table that raises up into a work surface. The back bedroom also has a queen size bed and a large closet. Both rooms share a bathroom with stall shower. There is also an inflatable bed stored above the washer and dryer for larger groups. The kitchen is well equipped and includes a high speed blender (margaritas anyone?), an air fryer, gas stove, lots of pots and pans as well as baking essentials. The back yard has a gas grill and large outdoor dinning table. If you're looking for something to do nearby, you will be well situated at Magnolia Cottage. If nature is your thing: * Bidwell Park with great hiking trails, swimming holes and fabulous open areas is a ten minute drive * Butte Meadows is a 45 minute drive and in the winter can be a great sledding option If you want to walk to dinner: * Check out Park Avenue Pub for delicious sandwiches and salads * Nobby's for the best burgers in Chico * Drunken Dumplings for Asian Tapas Craft beers anyone? * Sierra Nevada Brewing Company is a 4 minute drive * The Commons Social Emporium a great spot for pour your own IPA's and pizza is a 3 minute drive There are soooo many more options, we've put together a guide book to make it easy! There is plenty of street parking. The garage is not available for guest use. Guest access Magnolia Cottage is yours to enjoy during your stay. Commercial activities must be requested and approved.
