Riverbank Retreat, a cosy cabin on the waterfront.

Riverbank Retreat is a cosy unique wooden cabin nestled on the riverbank of the River Adur. It is situated in the country's smallest RSPB bird reserve and is the perfect place to get away and relax. The cabin is fully self contained and guests will have all they need to enjoy their stay! On your doorstep you will find the ever changing scenery of the river estuary, the wildlife, walks in the South Downs. The picturesque town of Shoreham by Sea is nearby, and the beach is a 1 minute walk away. The space Riverside Retreat is a cute cosy fully self contained cabin. Inside you will find a comfy queen sized bed, a sofa, a dining table, a kitchen with sink, kettle, gas stove and oven, washing machine, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster, cafetière, microwave and all you need to prepare meals. I provide fresh coffee, milk ( cows and oat) and snacks for your arrival ( I am happy to provide plant based items to upon request). You will also find cooking oil, salt and pepper for meal preparation. There is a dining table and chairs for you to enjoy meals and watch the bird life outside. The Bathroom has a compact electric shower, toilet and sink. I provide towels and eco friendly Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner for you to enjoy. There is also a hairdryer and iron if needed. The Cabin is carefully decorated in an eclectic mix of vintage and upcycled art work and homewares (this is our passion) and is very unique. Outside the cabin you have your own table and chair to enjoy a coffee and access to our bike shed with complimentary bikes, helmets and locks to use. you will also have unlimited use of our kayaks and beach equipment. The cabin has its own washing machine should you need one and there is a drying rack provided. In the colder months, the cabin is heated with electric radiators and never gets cold! A tower fan is provided in the summer months. A travel cot can be provided, free of charge, please ask when you are looking to book. We can also accommodate up to 12 guests over the 3 properties ( based on guests sharing beds) subject to availability. Guest access The cabin is completely self contained and you will have it all to yourself! The jetty that the cabin sits on is shared with us but it is huge so there is plenty of space for all. Feel free to use the table and chairs. We also have a garden with a seating area and can provide a fire pit and wood if you fancy and evening around the fire. 50 yards away there is a lovely park and outdoor gym for those missing their usual routines. We provide environmentally friendly products to use during your stay. We have a flushing toilet but we kindly ask guests to put paper and wipes in the bin provided. The beach is only 1 minute walk and as a nature reserve, is very special. You can swim all year round and there is a board walk to make a stroll very pleasing at sunset... Other things to note No parties No smoking in the cabin Parking is free on beach road, 5 mins away. There is a car park directly behind us which is £5 per day but free from 6pm till 9 am (it is patrolled by traffic wardens) This is a quiet close knit community so please can noise be kept to a minimum after 11pm and before 9am. If you have a small child we may be able to accommodate them, with a travel cot or a small fold up bed - please message me to request this and there will be a small extra charge)
