Take a break and unwind at this peaceful hideaway in the Suffolk countryside. The hamlet of Thorpe Morieux is just outside of the historic village of Lavenham (9 mins drive). Lavenham is often described as "England’s best preserved medieval town" (but really it's a village). Back in the medieval period it was among the twenty wealthiest settlements in England! Nowadays it offers a wealth of historical interest, delightful shops and galleries and a wide choice of places to eat and drink. The space Originally constructed in the 1840s the Cow Shed has recently been refurbished to a high standard while retaining its charm and character including many original features such as exposed brickwork and beams. The Cow Shed adjoins Thorpe Hall Stables (where we live with our two daughters and our very friendly cat, Seb!). Together the buildings were used as calving stables for the 'British Friesian' dairy cows (up until the late 60's, early 70's). An old milking shed previously ran along the now garden area of Thorpe Hall Stables. Double doors open into a cosy bedroom/ living area complete with king-sized bed, sofa, small dining table and chairs and internet-enabled TV. From the bedroom area leads into a contemporary en-suite shower room with walk-in shower. Up a few brick steps you will find a kitchenette equipped with 2 ring electric hob, fridge/freezer, sink, microwave, toaster, kettle and all the essentials you will need for cooking (including tea, coffee, salt & pepper, oil, sugar etc.) Outside the property to the front you will find a small seating area from which you can soak up the views across to the church or sip something cold on warm summers' evenings and enjoy the last of the sun's rays.
