This unique cabin is lodged in the Finnish forest with breathtaking views of pristine nature. From the comfort of your bed you can observe the Finnish wildlife including foxes, deers and abundance of birds. The cabin is located on a steep hill and in the bottom of the creek meanders a small river surrounded by dense vegetation. The cabin is designed by interior architect Heidi Taskinen and the interior draws inspiration from the surrounding nature and Scandinavian minimalism. The space The cabin and the surrounding area is pictured in the photos as truthfully as possible. :) The cabin is just 40 minute car ride from Helsinki airport located within short distance of wide range of nature experiences. Meiko, a magnificent nature reserve made for hiking or mountain biking, is within a short bike ride. Climbers could easily spend weeks exploring nearby cliffs and boulders. Water enthusiasts and fishermen can choose from several lakes nearby. The cabin and the outhouse are hidden in the forest, our own house is 70 meters from the cabin but there are no direct views either way. You're free to wander around in our lot (1 ha of forest). :) Our lot is in the countryside, it is not directly connected to a larger wilderness area and there are other detached houses and a stable nearby. If you want to visit i.e. Meiko area, it's easiest to take a bike or car to get there (3 km from here). Guest access The closest bus stop (Vilhonkummuntie, HSL Ki0443) is 1,5 km from the cabin. The buses 171, 171Z and 173 take you to Iso Omena, Matinkylä metro station (travel time 35min) with a further connection to Helsinki. Kirkkonummi railway station and city center are 3 km from the cabin. The train takes 40 min to Helsinki central railway station. The cabin is nested in forest, but our main house is 70 meters from the cabin (no direct views either way). The parking lot is shared and beside our own garage, but the 100m path to cabin is private and zigzags through dense forest. Other things to note The cabin is equipped with basic amenities, similar to what you would expect from a Finnish summer house. Please note the following limitations before booking: - there is no running water (no shower either) but onsite there is 20 liters of drinking water available and more on request. - The toilet is an unheated outhouse. - There is a small fridge (minibar size), a microwave oven, utensils & cooking equipment, portable induction hob inside the cabin, smalll propane grill outside. - The bed is 140cm wide. The host is a wilderness guide and very knowledgeable of the area. We also rent hiking equipment if you want to combine your stay to a camping trip to Meiko nature reserve.
