Welcome to Camp Allons-Y, a one-of-a-kind vacation experience on the Chetco River. Perfect for one or two families, this multi-level, multi-structure compound is available to book this summer for the first time ever! From kayaks to cookouts, you'll experience indoor-outdoor living while enjoying creature comforts like plumbing, power, real beds, a full kitchen and high-speed internet. Allons-y is French for “Let’s go!” and once you visit this special place, you'll understand how it got its name. The space With its multi-level, multi-structure layout, Camp Allons-y allows your party to spend time together, but still have your space. It breaks down like this: *Top Level: Approximately street level, featuring our vintage (restored) Airstream camper, outhouse, comfort station and storage container. You can even take a bath under the stars in a tub we salvaged after Hurricane Katrina. *Middle Level: Take a set of stairs down to the next level, where you'll find the kitchen, dining area and two safari tents. This is the heart of Allons-y, where the grilling, games and good times happen. *Lower Level: A slope built into the riverbank takes you town to a third, smaller nylon tent, which rests on its own platform. From there you just follow another slope down to the Chetco! If you love to fall asleep to river sounds, this is the spot you want to claim. So how many does Allons-y sleep? There are plenty of configurations for one or two families here at camp: - Airstream Camper - 2 full-sized beds - Safari Tent 1 - 1 queen bed - Safari Tent 2 - 1 queen bed - Nylon Tent - 1 queen bed - "Floater Beds" - 2 twin-sized portable cots to use wherever Guest access Our camp is on the Chetco river. While you're at Camp Allons-y, you have free reign over the entire property. No parts of the camp are shared with others, though you'll see our friendly neighbors and fellow adventure lovers when you're out and about. It is, after all, an outdoor camp. Other things to note This is the first time we're welcoming guests (aside from friends and family) to Allons-y! We're only offering a few weeks this summer, and we can't wait to welcome you. We call life at camp "Off-Grid Lite" because you still have the basic amenities you want, including electricity, running water, a flushing toilet, a working kitchen and high-speed Internet, but they're supported by systems you might not have at home. For example, electricity here is drawn from a solar-powered battery bank. That means there's plenty of juice to charge your devices, but leave the hair dryer and vacuum cleaner at home! Taking a hot shower and a gust of wind blows out the propane flame? No worries, just reset it! In other words, some camping experience is helpful in order to understand the nuances of indoor-outdoor living, although it's definitely not necessary. In terms of temperature, we enjoy what locals call the "Chetco Effect": It's always a bit warmer upriver (at camp) than down at the misty harbor of Brookings. Still, it cools down after dark, so bring warm socks and a cozy sweater. Some other important things to note about the camp and location: - We do have Starlink high-speed satellite internet, but NOT cell service. - You CAN make wifi-based calls. - We have a fully functioning, flushing toilet, but just ONE. - To maximize enjoyment of the experience, minimum stay is set at a week
