The Head Gardener's House is a spacious two storey holiday cottage that sleeps up to 6 people in Built in the 19th century for the Head Gardener this three bedroom house overlooks the walled kitchen garden. The picturesque town of Saffron Walden is within walking distance and Cambridge is a short car journey away. On the first floor there are 3 large bedrooms and two bathrooms; one with a bath with shower over and the over with a walk in shower. To the rear of the property is a private garden with a outbuilding for cycle storage. A cot and highchair can be provided on request Designated car parking is provided in the service yard approx 2 min walk from the property. The Head Gardener's House was added to the English Heritage holiday cottage in January 2023 following a complete refurbishment of the property which also included the installation of an air source heating system. When the site is closed to the public guest staying at an English Heritage holiday cottage can explore the parkland of the estate at their leisure. Cambridge Lodge is only 50 miles from Central London and 15 miles from Cambridge. Audley End Station is located approx 1.5 miles with a regular service to both London and the university City of Cambridge.
