Kozolec, a unique farm stay

Description

Welcome to a one-of-a-kind off-grid retreat, where your journey begins with an enchanting entrance through the canopy of a tree. If heights don't make you queasy, you don't suffer from frequent back problems, and your little ones are past the stage of climbing mishaps, then prepare for a truly unique stay. However, if any of these descriptions resonate with you, we kindly suggest you consider alternative accommodations. The space As you step inside, your senses will be delighted by the inviting scent of wood, creating an instant feeling of warmth and comfort. And when your eyes gaze out of the window, they will be treated to breathtaking views of the lush green landscape that surrounds the property. A thing to definitely keep in mind is that the loft has no heating, except an IR panel in the bathroom. As it also lacks any insulation, cold weather means a cold loft. We provide enough blankets to keep you warm during the night, but if you're quick to be cold, maybe a stay during colder months is not for you. Hot water is available, and it is heated with solar power. In the case of an extended period of bad weather it is possible to run out of hot water (and electricity), so you should keep the weather forecast in mind when taking a long, hot shower on a cold, rainy evening. Guest access You will have access to everything in the loft, the surrounding area, and the barn, which is filled with all kinds of different animals. Other things to note The whole building is off-grid, meaning it is not connected to the public power grid or water system. But don't let that scare you, both electricity and water are available in the apartment, it's just that it is entirely self-sufficient. With solar panels on the roof and enough batteries to last you a couple of days without sun, electrical appliances work like normal. The only big thing that is missing is heating, as that would require way better insulation and a lot more power. Nevertheless, it's important to conserve energy to avoid depleting the reserves during extended periods of poor weather. Water is pumped from a bit lower in the valley and stored in a reservoir buried next to the building. While we advise against drinking this water, it is suitable for showering and washing dishes. As already mentioned, the loft has no heating, so if you're arriving early in May, or late in September, nights can get pretty cold. We provide you enough blankets to keep you warm, but be warned, getting out of bed in the morning can be a real hassle.
