Nestled at the base of Chapel Hill, Braunton, with off street parking, the Hideout is a cosy studio, perfect for a singles or couples getaway. Accessed via a private side gate, follow the path and 5 steps down to the lower garden, a little distance away from our home. Just 5 mins walk to the centre of the coastal village of Braunton and less than 10 mins drive to stunning Saunton Sands; The Hideout is perfectly located. Braunton boasts great shops, surf stores, cafes, restaurants and pubs. The space The Hideout is a cosy hideaway with a double bed, sofa, fold-down table, 2 fold-down chairs and a small kitchenette (fridge, microwave with grill, kettle and toaster). In the newly fitted en suite, there is an electric shower, heated towel rail and WC. Access is easy, with your own designated off street parking space, on our driveway. Just open the little side gate and follow on down to the property at the base of the garden. We will leave a key in the door for you but there will always be a spare in the key safe. Recently decorated in a fresh, coastal theme, The Hideout creates a restful atmosphere. With its stylish lighting, with Edison bulbs, the calm ambience will welcome you in. To ensure a relaxing and deep night's sleep, Blackout blinds are provided over both the window and the traditional, stable door. Next to the window, you can enjoy a fold-down table and chairs, giving you the flexibility to use the space as you wish; whether eating, working or playing cards! On either side of the bed you will find small, bedside cabinets, each offering a basket and a drawer. A hanging rail and hangers are provided for your clothes, with a storage drawer below. Relax on the cosy sofa and just chill out anytime. On arrival you will find, tea, coffee, sugar and milk, so you can instantly make yourself at home. Salt and pepper are in the cupboard, kitchen roll and kitchen linen is also provided. You may choose to enjoy the local restaurants or bring a takeaway home but equally the microwave gives you the option to grill or cook your own meal. Throw open the window of the stable door to hear the birds singing or step out onto the sun-drenched little patio and bask in the morning rays as you enjoy coffee or breakfast in utter tranquility. In the evening, whilst sipping your favourite tipple, look up and admire the view of the ancient ruin of St Michael's chapel, that sits atop the hill that rises to the back of the property. A beautiful stroll to the top of this steep hill is on your doorstep and will reward you with magnificent village and coastal views. Less than 10 minutes drive will take you to the North Devon coast and our local beach, the spectacular Saunton Sands. This is just part of our amazing coastline that has recently been awarded the status of the 'North Devon World Surfing Reserve'. Explore the beautiful Braunton Burrows, behind Saunton Sands, which are a designated 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and cycle the local Tarka Trail, right from the centre of Braunton. These are just some of the many delights that you can sample from your stay at The Hideout. Walk, surf, paddleboard, run, cycle, kite surf or sea swim... take your pick! In the garden, you will find a washing line and an outdoor tap with short hose for washing down your sandy feet or footwear after a busy day at the beach. Our drainage system cannot cope with any sand in the en suite shower as it will block the pump. Guest access Access is easy, with your own designated off street parking space, on our driveway. Just open the little side gate and follow on down to the property at the base of the garden. We will leave a key in the door for you but there will always be a spare in the key safe. Other things to note Whilst we, the owners live here on site, in our bungalow, your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. Whilst we will not physically welcome you unless you so wish, we warmly invite you to pass to and fro our garden to access our little garden studio for your holiday. A couple of minutes away down the hill is a useful bus stop. The 21 C takes you from the village, out to Croyde and Georgeham and is often open top during the Summer months.
