The Old Chapel of Ermington

Quiet location in the village of Ermington, South Devon - Stay in the vestry of the Chapel, recently remodelled to offer a sleek self-contained suite, with bedroom, lounge, eating areas and shower room and with its own private entrance - Throw open the by-folds on sunny mornings and enjoy a peaceful breakfast on the large Sun Deck - Meet our friendly alpacas, goats and horses in our small rescue/pet farm. - Easy access to Dartmoor, the southams sandy beaches and many other sightseeing sites The space The Chapel was built at the end of the XiXth Century and consecrated as a place of worship in the Methodist faith until the 1980s when it was converted into a dwelling. The guest suite is located in the old vestry - the private space of the priest within the building. It has it own entry through a set a French doors that lead to a lounge area, an Emperor size bed, a dining area fitted with a mini kitchenette (microwave, kettle, toaster, mini fridge, all crockery equipement), suitable for breakfast, simple meals or a take away. WE THINK YOU WILL LOVE - The character of the space - designed and furnished with the best materials in mind so it feels like a home and not just a hotel room - Eating and drinking out within walking distance to suit various budgets: The First and Last Bistro in the village offers a la carte or set menus Plantation House is just on the edge of the village and offers a more refined eating experience. The village pub, the croocked spire is on the village square just opposite the chapel. - Easy access to the Dartmoor and the beaches - Easy access to many sightseeing sites whilst enjoying a country location. OUR FARM We run a small pet/rescue farm where we keep alpacas, goats, horses, chickens and geese. If you feel so inclined, we would love to introduce you to our friendly pets. DISCOVER The Chapel is also home to Materia Aromatica and its range of organic essential oils. We have over 70 fragrances and 30 blends. All in all more than 100 ways to tease your olfactory senses. Whether you are already an adept of essential oils or just a novice, we will love to introduce you to our world of aromas. You will have the opportunity to try a few testers, a blend to lift your special space or to help you drift into a peaceful sleep. Guest access The suite is accessible through a wooden gate on the side of the chapel. We will either be there to welcome you and give you the key or we will leave the key in a safe location.
