Sparrow’s Nest Cottage

Fully refurbished in 2022, Sparrow’s Nest Cottage is set alongside a Victorian house and has picturesque views of the rolling North Downs. The cottage is right on the North Downs/Pilgrim’s Way and is 6 miles from the historic cathedral city of Canterbury. The quintessential Kent village of Chilham is nearby, with the coast at Whitstable only a 30 minute drive away. There are great walks, lovely gardens, brilliant historical sites and excellent restaurants all within easy reach. The space Sparrow’s Nest Cottage is a spacious and modern conversation set across two floors. Ground Floor The private entrance opens into a large hallway with real wood flooring throughout. The modern fully equipped kitchen is well fitted with key appliances and an area to dine with french doors overlooking the self contained private patio. There is a living/dining room with large flatscreen tv, comfortable seating and dining table and chairs for four. The ground floor bathroom features a large wet room shower. First floor Stairs from the hallway lead up to the light and airy first floor landing. The main bedroom boasts stunning views of the North Downs to the front of the property and includes a double bed, hanging space and a chest of drawers. The second bedroom, overlooking the cottage garden and beyond to the extensive owner’s garden, features two single beds with the option of a third (pullout). There is a single step down from both bedrooms to the landing. We have installed motion- sensitive nightlights which automatically switch on at night when leaving the bedrooms. The first floor bathroom comprises a toilet, basin and a wet room shower with restricted head height. Both bathroom and upstairs shower room have level access. Outside The property benefits from double glazing. The fenced private garden is mostly laid to flagstone patio with seating for four and a small grassed area. Guest access The property is self-contained and detached alongside our house with private off road parking directly in front of the cottage. The private garden can be accessed through either the side gate or the French doors from the kitchen.
