Cottage in Morland
Description
Cranesbill cottage is a compact and cozy conversion, made from one long sandstone barn, built in 1781. It is a perfect location for guests who love hiking and rural life. Fully equipped, our special place provides a peaceful space to unwind. Easy access to the North Pennines and Lake District. Located on the outskirts of Morland village, surrounded by farmland. With views of the North Pennines from the back of the property and unbroken views, it really is a very special place to stay. The space Inside the cottage the rooms are compact, cozy and fully functioning. The walls are very thick, with small windows to keep the heat in during the winter months. We have a galley kitchen, which is tiny but high-functioning, there is all you need to prepare meals for a family of 4. We eat in the lounge where there is a dinning table area that comfortably seats 4. Also in the lounge are two small double sofas, when joined together makes an additional bed if needed. There is a large screen TV (there is no TV digital box or aerial therefore you will need to cast your own TV apps from your device) and board games for evening entertainment. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a bathroom. We have a power shower and large shower unit, there is a heated towel rail that gives off enough heat for the room and there is a washing machine and dryer for your use. The main bedroom has a little study space and views towards the Pennines. There is storage spaces in both bedrooms for your clothes. In the hall way is our kayak which we take to Ullswater whenever we can. You are welcome to use it at your own risk. It is not recommended for inexperienced kayak users. The life jacket must be worn and only one person can use it at a time. Each lake has its own rules and restrictions, check before you go. You will need cross bars to strap it onto your car. Guest access You will have sole access and use of the cottage. We have loading access only to the barnyard so you can unload your luggage/shopping however you will need to use our designated parking space once you have finished. Which is located at the side of the cottage. Other things to note Exploring the countryside, driving and outdoor activities are the main focus for most visitors. Our cottage is accessed by a cobbled barnyard, relatively remote and in a rural farming area so walking boots and a good level of fitness is required to make the most of your stay.
