This cute white cottage with a thatched roof is like from a fairy tale book! As if you really live in authentic Giethoorn. (North) The boats are available for rent from the neighbors, and the beautiful bridges can be found just a 6-minute walk away. Without hordes of tourists. (They are in Giethoorn South = 45 minutes walk) Unfortunately not suitable for babies/children from 0 to 8. The space Welcome to Giethoorn-Inn – a living painting in the original Giethoorn-Noord ❤️ Imagine: a white farmhouse with a thatched roof. “A heavenly place,” “a fairy tale to live in.” These are words that guests use over and over again. Not just a complete vacation home, but a place where it feels like you really live in Giethoorn. With a private fenced garden and a parking space in front of or inside your garden fence – something that is quite rare in Giethoorn. This authentic cottage is surprisingly spacious by the annex of a conservatory, which provides a bright, nice living space. The ceilings still have the authentic height from then, as well as the low front door, and the kitchen with characterful Aga cooker has been pulled by the living room, so everything is connected. Inside, you'll find an atmospheric mix of mahogany antiques and vintage ’60s chairs, including a lovely rocking chair. Everything is on the ground floor. Through the living room you step into the upstairs room, now furnished as a master bedroom with a lovely box spring. The former bedstede has been transformed into a wardrobe. Do you prefer to sleep separately? Then there is the small, cozy rose room with a single bed under the sloping wicker roof. The bathroom, in a nostalgic atmosphere, has recently been completely renovated and offers a spacious shower, sink and toilet. The gold yellow thatched roof, the creaking of the wooden floor, the enchanting charm of the location, the tapping in the rain on the serredak – this cottage exudes security and love. You will find us in Giethoorn-Noord, where Giethoorn once arose. The front boats are ready with our neighbors. The famous bridges start at 6 minutes walking distance over the small canals where the most beautiful farms are located and no car can come. Exactly what makes Giethoorn so famous. With us in the street you will also find three restaurants and a bus stop, all within a few minutes walk. You might be wondering why it's so quiet here. Have you seen videos on YouTube of boats that sail over each other, and bridges full of tourists? I will share a secret with you. What many people don't know is that Giethoorn was once split into two when Giethoorn-Midden was beaten away by a flood. Since then, the buses with tourists have been taken directly to Giethoorn-Zuid, where the museums, terraces and the busy tourist life take place. For example, this original part in Giethoorn Noord remained a well-kept secret – and we like to keep it that way. Sssst... 🤫 This is where Giethoorn was founded and given its name. Everything that makes Giethoorn famous is present here; her bridges, her canals and her unique atmosphere.❤️In addition, something special; her peace and quiet. Through her nature, you can sail into the great tourist hustle and bustle, and then quietly return to your idyllic cottage. Anyone who has been here has experienced the real Giethoorn. Greetings from Giethoorn, Kier-Jan and Els Guest access 🔑 Check-in information & reception The standard check-in time is 4 p.m. Would you like to arrive earlier? That's usually not a problem – as long as we know in time. We coordinate our work with the expected arrival time and are therefore not always available at the last minute. With good coordination, a lot is possible, and we are happy to think along with you. 🏡 Access to spaces As a guest, you have access to the entire white farmhouse, including the entrance and your own private garden. On the side is another round garden with a small orchard, adjacent to Els' massage practice. You can also use it when no treatments are taking place. Under the ivy-covered pergola, you are wonderfully sheltered from the sun – a green, cool place to relax or eat in the shade. In addition, there is a simple outdoor seating area with chairs and table. You can also move the chairs to the lawn for those who prefer to sit in the sun – the garden is facing the full south. The gate can be opened completely, so you can safely park your car (possibly with bicycles) behind the gate on the driveway. There is an open bicycle shed where you can store your bicycles dry and charge the batteries. ⚠️ Please note: charging batteries is not allowed in the cottage itself, due to fire safety. There is an electric cord in the bicycle shed for this purpose. (Massage guests enter the premises through the same garden gate and then go directly through the round garden to the practice room). Other things to note 🔥 Important notes 🧯 Our fire insurance does not allow an open flames! Candles, fire pits or BBQs are not allowed inside and outside – this is a thatched farm. At the insurance request, we also removed our microwave. 🚭 No smoking in or around the cottage! Smoking is only allowed by the garden fence or the bicycle shed, not by the roof! 🙅‍♀️ No parties or group visits Our B&B is a great place to relax, enjoy the cottage and the charm of Giethoorn. We focus on a stay for two to three guests who want to enjoy a quiet stay here. Parties, birthdays, or group places are not included. Only guests who are officially checked in are welcome on the premises. Would you like to invite someone for a cup of coffee or a brief meeting? No problem – if you coordinate with us. 🍽️ Friendly food. In our cottage it is not allowed to use fondue sets, gourmet sets, stone grills, frying pans or other intensive cooking appliances that cause a lot of smoke or grease. There is an electric cheese fondue pan in the cottage that you can use. There is also a small oven and an air fryer. 🧊 Small surprise in the freezer. Didn't have time to shop for groceries or would you rather not leave the door? In the freezer is usually something small for the hungry guest. Some meals are priced, and what doesn't have a euro price, you can eat. 🏡 This is a characterful old farmhouse. Simple, complete, romantic and clean . But not a modern luxury cottage with air conditioning, bathtub and outdoor loungers. Our Aga stove is off, but together with a two-burner stove, everything is available. Our lovely cottage has authentic dimensions. So low ceilings and small rooms compared to our modern times. That's exactly her charm.❤️ We like to welcome guests who love the kind of farmhouses that people in Giethoorn used to live in. Our cottage from 1900 has been renovated and is maintained by us with care and passion. Feel welcome, feel at home.🥰 🥖❌ No breakfast available. Breakfast is no longer served in our B&B. We noticed that this could no longer be combined for ourselves. Still, we have chosen to continue to rent out the cottage with love, so that guests can still enjoy it here. The simple kitchen is well equipped to make your own breakfast. 🟠!👶🧒 Unfortunately, it is not possible to welcome babies and young children (0 to 8 years) in our B&B. We understand that this can be disappointing for some guests. Nevertheless, we have consciously chosen this, because both the cottage and the immediate vicinity are not furnished for young children. 🦽✴️ Our house is unfortunately not suitable for wheelchairs or rollators.
