The Cabin overlooks Southwood Lake which is a private Lake that does have a few other houses / Camps surrounding the Lake. Please keep an eye on children around the lake. The Cabin has a loft with a Queen Bed and a Sleeper sofa for extra guest / kids. The 2nd bedroom is down stairs with a Queen size bed. The bathroom has a full size washer and dryer. The living room has plenty of seating that can also be used for sleeping and resting with a beautiful view of Southwood lake right out of the back door. There is also a large Air mattress if needed for extra guest. The cabin is heated and cooled with a Mini Split AC unit that keeps the Cabin very comfortable for guest. Driving into the property is unique and fascinating and it will not take long to realize you will have great privacy. Starlink Internet is available for guest to browse the internet, stream videos, and watch Tv. Enjoy sitting on the old island right on the Lake and watch wildlife and the beautiful evening sunset. The lake is private and owned by one individual but there are a few homes surrounding the lake. Southwood Lake is rich in history and the Lake was built in the late 70’s. It is known for trophy bass, white perch, bream, and catfish. Feel free to fish from the bank at the cabin. Catch and release all bass. Ask about other fish limits if you are interested in fishing during your stay. Southwood Lake is a Private members only lake and our guest have the benefit of fishing the lake but must follow lake rules. Catch and release of all bass is strictly monitored and enforced. Southwood Lake is a beautiful sight to see. The beautiful drive to the Cabin on Turkey Creek rd. is fascinating and the family will love the possibility of seeing exotic wildlife just beyond the high fence on the way in. Fishing is allowed, but Catch and release all bass. Catfish, Perch, and bream can be kept. If you catch a trophy bass (MEASURE, WEIGH, AND HAVE A REPLICA MADE) Let them go to grow! GMG Properties strictly enforces fish harvest with surveillance and we do not want to lose access to fishing for our guest. So please respect the rules. 1. CATCH AND RELEASE ALL BASS 2. WATCH CHILDREN AROUND THE LAKE - IT IS LARGE AND VERY DEEP 3. A FISHING LICENSE "IS NOT" REQUIRED SINCE THIS LAKE IS PRIVATE 4. HAVE FUN! Guest access Guest will have access to the entire property and an old island down by the lake. This property is very private and relaxing. The Cabin overlooks Southwood Lake. Please keep any eye on children around the lake. There are other homes and camps surrounding the lake as well but it is a private Lake not available to the public. Other things to note Turkey Creek road is a hilly beautiful ride in. 4 wheel drive is not needed but the driveway at the cabin is steep and 4 wheel drive makes it a lot easier to leave without tearing up the driveway. A large 2wd truck may need to pick up a little speed to prevent spinning on the driveway. Turkey creek road is fine for any vehicle with some ground clearance that isn’t lowered. Any Car, truck, or SUV should be fine as long as they have standard ground clearance of most vehicles for the hills.
