Description

The Yellow Barn is close to one of the best sandy beaches in Canada. It's built to resemble the boat barns local fisherman use to store their boats in the winter. You’ll love our place because of the cosiness, the folk art, and the views. The space This is an area rich in history that dates back to the origins of Canada. In the late 1700s, Britain won the battle for Canada over France so there is a unique mix of English and French heritage in PEI. The main beam of our cottage is likely from a shipwreck because it was found near the 1778 wreck site of the Annabella. The builders of the Yellow Barn noticed it protruding from a sand dune and in 1998 transported it to the current site of the cottage, where it formed the "backbone" of the structure. All passengers of the Annabella survived the wreck and the British immigrants were assimilated into what was then a colony of France known as Ile de St. Jean. Guest access The whole cottage is yours - there are beach chairs in the shed. The shed key is either on your key ring or hanging on the key hook by the front door.
