Seehaus Castle was the seat of this court from 1809 to 1848, which was the prince of Schwarzenberg. In 1816, nine places were built in the northern part of the southeast wing in 1816. On each floor, three units were separated from each other by strong wooden walls. The occupants were prevented by thick walls, wooden doors and iron, and barred windows. Mostly anyway, a criminal, just "the Schröckenberger", apparently managed to escape in 1832, But at least the cells were heatable! There were two small doors on the dungeon hallway that could cause the stoves to be fired from the outside. And after many modern conversions, it has also become quite cozy here today. Some traces of earlier use can still be seen when looking! Guest access You have a spacious, lockable apartment with 4 rooms, kitchen and bathroom at your disposal. In addition, each guest can use the adjacent castle garden. Other things to note From May to September, classical concerts are regularly held in Seehaus Castle. The program will be online on the castle's homepage from April. In one of the two small houses on the castle grounds, artist Susanne Habermann has her studio. If you want to take a special memory home with you, you can have your portrait painted or take drawing lessons. The Probst winery is within walking distance. Round off your visit with a wine tasting or secure the best wines for your home. When arriving, keep in mind that there are no direct shopping facilities in the village. The nearest bakery and butcher shop is in Sugenheim (5 km). In Uffenheim (10 km) there are several supermarkets (Aldi, Edeka) available. _______________________________________________ Please note that the apartment is not handicap accessible or accessible!
