The Wildlife Retreat is a welcoming 1 bed 1 bath located only a 15 minute drive from Troy University. This soothing space host a king bed, sofa bed, 50" TV, recliner, Keurig coffee pot, refrigerator, microwave, and private bathroom. Enjoy gazing at the wildlife from the mass wraparound porch at this scenic country location in Goshen, AL! We would love to host you at the Wildlife Retreat. You can get an additional queen bed in a private room by renting the Wildlife Executive Retreat! Wildlife Retreat is labeled in Airbnb as the entire house because it has a private entrance, a private bedroom and a private bathroom. It is not the entire house, but is a popular large private retreat within This Old House perfect for families or close couples or friends. (If you need more or less lodging space or need the entire house for lodging or events, see information at the end of this narrative.) The Wildlife Retreat is a part of a 6200 square foot Victorian Era home built in 1912; the same year the Titanic sank. This beautiful home also houses four other retreats available to rent. It is nestled in the country with an exquisite view of a 9 acre pond. The Wildlife Retreat has a private entrance off an amazing wrap-around porch that leads to your private bedroom. This retreat also has an additional private bedroom attached that is available to rent as the Wildlife Retreat Executive if you are interested in an additional queen bed. Parking is available close to the retreat. Sitting on the massive porch in Goshen, AL approximately 14 minutes from downtown Troy, evokes emotions of serenity, tranquility and peace. The Wildlife Retreat offers sleeping for four with a King bed and a new Queen pull out sofa bed. The newly purchased recliner, couch, and 50" flat screen TV are perfect for a calming afternoon nap or catching up on your favorite show on cable. Lounge on the couch or recliner while you surf the web. The lovely bedroom offers a microwave, refrigerator & Keurig coffee maker, with two pods of coffee for you to enjoy during your stay. A few games and a basketball are provided outside so the guest can get the full affect of the wonderful spacious shared yard. The vast shared porches afford the opportunity to gaze at the sparkling pond while swinging or rocking the day away; all while listening to the songbirds . Along with pond gazing you could enjoy a picnic on the porch at the patio table. Bring your board games an engage in a little competition under the shade of the immense porch! In the evenings the night sky is remarkable. Imagine no city lights and the stars and moon reflecting into the pond. All of this for you to enjoy at the Wildlife Retreat. Dining is only minutes away. The Old Barn Restaurant is just up the hill from This Old House. It is open from 4 pm to 8 pm Thursday - Saturday and serves country homemade cooking on Sundays from 11am - 2pm. The Old Barn has won the award for Alabama’s Best Steak and the best Catfish Award for Alabama. The famous Chicken Shack is only a 18 minute drive in Luverne, AL. Just off 331. From the wrap around porches and swings you can listen to the birds sing and watch the hummingbirds and butterflies plus remarkable wildlife like fox squirrels, Eastern wild turkeys, and whitetail deer in the massive yard. Just like The Pool House & Wildflower Retreat, the Pond View Open Loft, the Hummingbird Retreat at This Old House is located near the Conecuh River. Driving is the best way to see the beautiful countryside. You could be enjoying a savory meal from the award-winning Old Barn Restaurant on Thur. - Saturday nights from 4pm to 9pm or home cooking on Sundays from 11am to 2pm. Only 15 minutes away is Sips on the Square, voted best pizza and coldest beer in the area. Our beloved Troy University is only a 12 to 15 minute drive away. This Old House has been featured recently in Troy Life Magazine and over the years in Alabama Treasured Forest Magazine and other publications. The family is recipients of the esteemed Helene Moseley Conservation Award for outstanding forestry and wildlife management. They are also active in the Tree Farm program. The famous Old Barn Restaurant is within walking distance of this magnificent Retreat space. Only minutes away is Downtown Troy that is home to Sips Beer Garden along with other dining such as B.
