A stunning panoramic view awaits you at Nuthatch Cottage. This gorgeous, unspoilt haven is located in Mitcheldean, the enclave of the Forest of Dean and a locals-only spot in Gloucestershire. This 2 bedrooms house was built with natural Cotswolds stone. The entire house is secluded with a hot tub and has a luxuriously charming feel. It is perfectly situated to enjoy what the picturesque local area has to offer. The local shops, restaurants, and attractions are only a five-minute drive away. The space Nuthatch Cottage is perfect for nature lovers, stargazers, cyclists, and dog owners. The Cottage overlooks the beautiful Flaxley Valley known by the Romans as the Vale de Castiard. Nuthatch Cottage sits between beautiful Wye Valley, area of outstanding natural beauty, and the impressive River Severn with its many walks, beautiful sights, and places of interest. The cottage is not only a fantastic place to unwind but a great base to explore the surroundings with its natural beauty, history, fun, and places of interest area either by foot, cycle, or car. The detached cottage is a wonderfully restored old Forester cottage and retains its rustic charm, with its stone fireplace, oak flooring and open space for modern living. The cottage has its own private patio and garden for outdoor dining and a hot tub. Relax and unwind in a hot tub in a tranquil area of the Forest over looking the wonderful panoramic view. The cottage is Eco-friendly, for about 9 months of the year is almost fully self sufficient in its electricity needs as gets it power from a solar array. The oil boiler burns cleanly. The cottage is equipped with 2 comfy fabric sofa, and a downstairs bathroom. There is a double bed and 2 single beds in the two rooms upstairs. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need for a stay, including induction hob, microwave, fan oven, fridge with ice box, washing machine and dishwasher as well as bin, pans, pots, casserole dishes, baking trays, plates, bowels, wine glasses, cups, mugs, beer glasses, tea pot set, cutlery, tin opener, scissor, chopping boards, knifes and cooking utensils. There are also extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, oregano, soy sauce, baking papers and foils. There is a table and 4 chairs for dining. The first aid kit and oven and fridge manual are in the kitchen cabinet. The fire blanket and fire extinguisher are in the kitchen wall and corner. There is a touch in both bedroom and downstairs clock room if needed. The bathroom has a toilet, basin, shower, towel radiator, bathtub, hand soap, and hand towels. The utility room has a washing machine, washing up liquid, cleaning agents, spare light bulbs, a hair dryer, a torch, iron, and iron board. The living room has a LG 48' inch OLED TV. There is Free view play, movies and sport from the likes Netflix, NOW and Prime Video. There are 2 sofas including 1 sofa bed, a free-standing reading lamp, and 3 coffee tables. There are 3 electrical blinds in the living room with a remote control. There are 2 electrical blinds upstairs with a remote control. There is a very good WiFi connection. There is a perfect wooden gazebo with outdoor furniture. Included in the price: electricity, water, eggs, milk, biscuits, sugar, tea, and coffee for your arrival. Also included thorough cleaning prior to your arrival as well as bed linen, towels, loo rolls, washing up liquid, dish washer tablets, cloths, hand soap and bin liners. We also provide hand sanitizer, antibacterial spray, cleaning agents, and a dustpan and brush. In addition, two bags of wood/logs is included in the price. However, two bag of wood will NOT heat and maintain the entire hot tub. The wood-fired hot tub is located in your private garden. Scandinavian Hot Tub 5 Simple Steps As fun as it gets to heat the tub, it takes approximately 3-4 hours to get the hot tub ready. It would be best to assume you will need approximately four 18 litres bags of hardwood logs per hot tub dependent on the weather and how long you use it for. 1. Fill the hot tub with water from the hose pipe until it reaches 10-20cm below the top ridge of the tub (approximately 1 hour) - I can do this for you. 2. When water is over ½ way to the top then start the fire with a lighter, firelighters and kindling wood (10 min). 3. Heat up the water to the desired temperature around 37 degrees (approximately 3-4 hrs) as it contains huge volume of water. 4. Enjoy the hot tub and maintain the heat. 5. Press the buttons at the side for underwater lighting and the bubble jet system. There is more instruction details at cottage. Please note that the wood/logs are NOT included in the price except two bags. You can source the wood locally or we can provide the wood for an additional charge. It will take more than 1 bag of wood to heat and maintain the hot tub to a comfortable temperature (approximately four 18 liters bags) which you will need to bring yourself. If you would like me to pre-heat the hot tub to 37 degrees so you can use it immediately after arriving. It can be done. Please ask for details this will cost extra. The Dog Owners We provide poo bags to keep the space clean. The dog will be allowed on the sofa only with a throw. There are 2 throws under the TV stand in the cottage. There is a dog wash tap at the front of the cottage, and the patio is walled, fenced, and gated. In your own private garden, we do allow dogs off lead but not guaranteed dog proof. Guest access Please note that access is via a single and bumpy lane. The nearest bus stop is in Mitcheldean 3miles The nearest railway station is in Gloucester 12 miles. The nearest town is Mitcheldean 3 miles, 30 minutes walk some uphill. Guide dogs/dogs are accepted. We recommend that guests with mobility, visual or hearing impairment are accompanied to ensure their safety. Free Parking is 40 metres uphill from the cottage. Please note that the knives are very sharp. There is a OLED LG 48' inch TV so extra on-demand TV, movies and sport from the likes of Netflix, NOW and Prime Video. Hot tub is available from 8am-8pm. Hot tub instructions and other notes including fire instruction and fire safety information are in the cottage. As the hot tub has a huge amount of water in it. It will consume lots wood to heat to a comfortable temperature. Please allow 1 hour to fill the hot tub and approximately 3-4 hours to heat the water to a desired temperature. It would be best to assume you will need approximately four 18 liters bags of hardwood logs per hot tub. You can resource locally here i.e. the Tesco in Cinderford or petrol station in Mitcheldean. Please note these are estimates and this can vary based on the weather and the quality of the wood you use and how long you use the hot tub for.
