Charming cottage including well equipped kitchen has accommodation for 2 people. One large room with a king bed. A country feel with so much to do. 2 min walk to the pub, post office, pizzeria, station & cafes. Scenic drives to Fowels, Tabilk, Mitchelton & Heathcote wineries. Laze on sunny verandahs or relax next to the wood burning stove. The space BEDROOM ONE is large and has a king sized bed and currently contains another king single bed. This area has its own reverse cycle air conditioner for cooling and heating. THE KITCHEN and living area are open plan with a seating area also has a revers cycle air conditioner. The kitchen is well equipped with an oven, gas cooktop, dishwasher and utensils. The adjoining living area contains comfortable seating, a wood heater and rustic dining table with seating for six. A smart T.V. with streaming services available. THE BATHROOM includes a large shower. The toilet is in the bathroom. SUPPLIES We supply generic soap, shampoo and conditioner. Our aim is to reduce single use plastics so we supply large bottles or shampoo and conditioner. We supply dish washing powder, basic cleaning products, cling film and tin foil. Salt and pepper and some basic spices. This two bedroom house has pleasant garden views and indoor and outdoor areas to relax. * * *INTERNET * * * Free Other appliances: fans are available for circulating air also. Guest access Guests will have the whole house to themselves. Room 1 has a king sized bed and a sunny reading area that is separated from the living areas. Other things to note THE FOOD and WINE TRAIL Just two doors down from this accommodation you will find excellent Pizza and a decent wine list at The Bank St Pizza, you can dine in the garden or inside the original Bank. Bookings essential at busy times but take away is easy too. Harvest Home, a public bar, restaurant and wedding venue is at 1 Bank St and I would love to get your opinion of the offerings, check it out and let me know. An easy walk from The Avenel Cottage. Tabilk is an oldy but a goody! Famous for wildlife and old grape varieties, it has dining options and a cellar door but it's a drive so you will need a designated driver. Fowels has had a big makeover and could be walkable, (30 mins) a good feed every time and cellar door advice. Mitchelton (just past Tabilk) has also been made over following the floods, have not been here for years but let me know what you think if you make it here. Bookings are essential at these venues. Sundry other Heathcote and Nagambi venues to explore. Please consult the book available at the cottage - How to Drink Australian supplied at the cottage for ideas about visiting these areas. OTHER ( local and less expensive) FOOD OPTIONS The Daily Dose -2 Queen St, has a range of cafe food, just drop in, I had a great quiche with salad there recently. Next to the pharmacy. The Avenel Cafe - 28 Livingstone St, has killer burgers and excellent milkshakes. The Avenel Road House - 54 Jones St, has food, fuel and general roadhouse food. POST OFFICE You can get cash out here and also has a good selection of basic supplies, newspapers and other reading material. PHARMACY This is an excellent place for advice, medication and other supplies. GADDS Must see - Gadds explore the offerings, changing all the time. FAIR FOOD & WILDFLOWERS Behind Gadds your will discover some really great local produce.
