The space Welcome to Obracadobra, the Artist's Residency located at Casa Colonial in beautiful Oaxaca, Mexico! Obracodobra is an artist residency located in the heart of Oaxaca City the capital of the State of Oaxaca in Mexico. Oaxaca is a renowned cultural center and has a rich artistic lineage that goes back centuries. Nestled in a beautiful valley, Oaxaca is famous for weavings, wood carvings, ceramics, architecture, food, and of course a deep and inspiring history as can be experienced at the numerous archeological zones. Now, more than ever, Oaxaca is a hot spot for contemporary art as well. With numerous galleries, a contemporary art museum, printmaking studios, and a film center, Oaxaca is an inspiration. This new art center featuring a spacious studio, writers accommodations, a library and a full kitchen will be home for creative people for residencies starting with one month stays, or optional extended work periods. Included in the artist's stay is a full breakfast, a studio, wireless internet and a single accommodation. Residencies start at $1200 USD for the month for writers, $1500 USD with art studio.
