The garage
Description
Disconnect at this unique and tranquil getaway. La Cochera is an off-grid retreat into the Andalucian countryside. Welcoming to lone female travellers and happy couples. The space La Cochera (The Coachhouse) is the east wing of a renovated farmhouse with caves. It is a private suite, beautifully crafted by artists to create a private haven and artists' retreat. You can spend a whole day in the great outdoors and then find yourself relaxing in “the most beautiful bathroom in Baza” and taking in the most stunning sunsets from our mirador. It’s unique because, during rental months it’s difficult to notice that you are staying in a fully sustainable house. The farmhouse exclusively uses electricity provided by our solar panels and our water supply is via a well on the property. Guest access La Cochera has its own private access with a double bedroom with mini fridge and an ensuite bathroom with shower and bathtub. Guests have use of a private patio. Common areas include a mirador/pergola area and laundry room. During your stay We live on the property and are available to offer you help and advice about the region throughout your stay. We're also happy to show you the mechanics of this off-grid home for those curious about sustainable living. Other things to note We encourage long term rentals to allow guests to enjoy this rare opportunity to relax into the panoramic landscape carved by the ancient Baza lake. The view from the mirador here is spectacular and one the best that you'll find to help you appreciate how the landscape has formed. In this isolated part of the Altiplano de Granada you can really dedicate yourself to the experience and enjoy the bliss of walking through this impressive landscape; or cycle through the increasingly popular route inspired by our local Olympian David Valero. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy phenomenal stargazing, unique archaic festivals or otherwise explore the historic towns and villages of this yet ‘undiscovered’ region.
