No food waste, coffee grinds or grease can go down the sink drains. All of the cottage toilets and sinks are on a septic system. (This means we are not connected to a city sewer or drain system). This is normal for any home or cottage in a rural location. Our septic is in excellent condition but it is ESSENTIAL that everyone in your group understands the following basic rules in order to avoid problems during your stay. ***Not following the basic rules can cause unnecessary very costly repairs to the septic system.*** We love our cottage and our neighbours, some of whom have been on the lake for 50+ years.
