Quick Overview: - Located on 18 secluded acres - Adult Only - Fully equipped kitchenette - Private deck with fire pit + soaking tub - Heating + A/C - 15 min to Lake Hope State Park - 30 Min drive to Hocking Hills State Park or Athens, Ohio Detail: Wildwood Dome is 450 sq ft and features a king size bed, living area and fully equipped kitchenette. Your private bathroom is located a short walk away and has a shower with rainfall shower head, toilet and sink/vanity. Your spacious deck is outfitted with a BBQ grill, seating, firepit and a soaking tub. Amenities: We provide tons of extras so you can pack light. All linens/towels are provided. You will also find coffee+tea/honey(local),creamer, 1/2 dozen local eggs, spices, oils and condiments in the kitchen. Local shampoo bars and body soap are provided in the bathroom. (An extensive list of what is provided and amenities will be sent 2 weeks before check in to help you pack light.) WIFI: We do have Wi-Fi (though no cell service) but we strongly encourage guests to disconnect during their stay at Rooted Domes. Here you will find a unique opportunity to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and just BE. Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the surrounding forest and indulge your senses with an array of engaging activities to enhance your stay, including games, puzzles, coloring books, musical instruments, yoga mats, and much more! Other Guests: There is a second Dome on the property and the domes are orientated for the most privacy. The domes/guests share the parking area, the pathway to the site and access to the creek and forest. Please observe a quiet time (low music) between 9pm and 8am so everyone can enjoy the sounds of the forest! PARKING: A gravel parking area is available for up to 4 vehicles. Please note the driveway is steep. An All Wheel Drive is recommended but not required. PATHWAY: Our domes are a 500-foot walk from the parking area and includes a steep set of stairs. We provide luggage carts for your belongings. However, please pack light as the carts cannot traverse the stairs leading to your dome. Leave them at the bottom of the stairs for your return trip! THE PROPERTY: Feel free to explore the property and beyond as much as you would like. There are two marked routes that will get you to Zaleski state forest hiking trails. Although I am often on site cleaning, I value your privacy! I live on the property and am easily reachable via AirBnB messages. Two Mile Rd is a quiet country road that follows the northern side of Zaleski State Forest. Your “neighborhood” consists of one other Dome, a seasonal creek that is fun to explore, and a 15 min marked trail that will lead you to Zaleski State Forest hiking trails. My personal home is also on the property about 700’ from the Domes. You can find many outdoor activities within a 15 to 30 minute drive from Rooted Domes, including hiking trails, kayaking, zip lining, mountain bike trails and more! A vehicle is needed to explore this area! Around... Lake Hope State Park (15 min drive) Located inside Zaleski State Forest, Lake Hope offers hiking trails, kayaking, fishing and boating opportunities plus a very pleasant beach and swimming area. It is also home to the Lake Hope Dining Lodge which offers a true home cooked BBQ based menu, fantastic Brunch Buffet on Sundays, beer and wine and a fantastic view of Lake Hope. Zaleski State Forest (15-30 min drive) Zaleski Forest is the largest State forest in Ohio! You will find many hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking trails here! Home of the Haunted Moonville Tunnel! Hocking Hills (30 min drive) Hocking Hills has some awesome trails and caves to explore. There is also the Inn at Cedar Falls which hosts a great restaurant, gift shop and massage opportunities. Athens (30 min drive) Athens is a small, walk-able college town with many diverse shops and restaurants with a strong focus on supporting local farms and craftsmen. Athens hosts a great bike trail, a city swimming pool, a good selection of craft breweries, and a lively bar and music scene! Logan (25 min drive) Logan is the best starting point for kayaking and ziplining along the Hocking River. It also boasts a great pizza place (Pizza Crossing) and delicious frozen yogurt at Hocking Hills Frozen Yogurt Company! Perfect after a day of kayaking! DRIVING: Please save directions offline as there is no cell service in the area. CELL PHONE SERVICE: Only T-Mobile users will receive any signal on the property. ACCESSIBILITY: The domes are located a short walk from the parking area (approx. 500 ft) and require going up a set of stairs. Please bring appropriate shoes for the weather. ADULTS ONLY: maximum occupancy is 2 adults. BOOKING THE ENTIRE SITE: The entire site will accommodate 4 people. If you book the entire site, children over 12 are welcome.
