We are also only 10 minutes from Emory and Henry's beautiful campus! This is a great location for exploring the Creeper Trail, the Salt Trail, the Appalachian Trail, Hungry Mother Park, Channels Preserve, and Grayson Highlands. The space Welcome to our charming historic home, a true gem nestled in the heart of Glade Spring. Dating back to 1868, this lovingly restored residence invites you to step back in time while enjoying all the modern comforts you crave. As you enter, you'll be greeted by the grandeur of a bygone era, with spacious rooms adorned with beautiful antiques and period details that speak to the rich history of the house. Whether you're lounging in the parlor, gathering in the formal dining room, or relaxing out on one of the three inviting porches, every inch of the home has character and charm. With ample space to accommodate up to 8 guests, this home is perfect for families, groups of friends, or anyone seeking a memorable getaway. Each of the bedrooms boasts comfortable furnishings and plush bedding, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of exploration. On the first floor you will find one large bedroom with brand new king size, memory foam mattress and a gorgeous ensuite bathroom. The remaining bedrooms are upstairs, one with 2 queen beds and the other with a full size bed. Upstairs you can also enjoy a library/game room and the second story, covered balcony. Downstairs there is a large, fully stocked kitchen, formal dining room with fireplace, living room and the additional hall bathroom. Take the party outdoors to the fire pit or enjoy a game of corn hole and a bocce ball (both provided in the dining room closet). In most instances we are able to honor requests for early check-in or late check-out. If you would like to take advantage of this, please let us know! Guest access Guests have access to the entire house and the large yard (1 acre). Other things to note Please note that central heat and A/C is on the second floor only. The first floor has 2 wall mount mini-splits, one in the bedroom and one in the living room. We have space heaters available for the bathrooms if needed. This house is great for train enthusiasts as you can watch the trains roll by from the front porch. They are not on a schedule and pass by several times a day. We have provided sound machines and ear plugs for light sleepers. We just added a new washer/dryer!
