The Space We have three guest rooms that have been recently updated and feature private bathrooms, mini fridge, electric fireplaces and wifi. The Room This upstairs bedroom offers a queen size bed and a private bathroom, which is located across the hall. The House Our home was built in 1901 by a travelling cutlery salesman. He wanted a traditional colonial style house (Colonial homes are usually symmetrical squares or rectangles. They’re always at least two stories, and the staircase to the second and third floors usually bisects the home down the center.) The salesman's wife wanted a queen anne style home. Queen Anne style is a bit more dramatic and romantic. They feature bay windows, wrap around porches, 'decorative excess.' So what to do? They settled by making the downstairs queen anne and the upstairs colonial. We offer offer three upstairs 'colonial' rooms. When you walk into the space, you will see the queen anne style. Your entrance is private and not shared with anyone, but Steph's photography clients as her studio is on the first floor. Explore Downtown! Yoga, Coffee shops and restaurants are all within blocks. We are available. You might catch us out on a nice night sitting on the porch. The Ash Street Retreat is located right on the corner of beautiful downtown Baraboo. We are within minutes of shopping, restaurants, distilleries, wineries and bars. Parking: From October 1st - May 1st, there is alternate side parking. It is easiest to park in the 24 hour lot located just past our home on Ash Street (after you unload of course) Getting around in Baraboo is very easy. Places in downtown Baraboo are easily reached by foot. Devils Lake is 10 minutes away and the Wisconsin Dells is 15 minutes away. We have three guest suites, so you might see other and hear other guests coming and going.
