Serenity in the Hills

Forget your worries and enjoy a peaceful retreat in the foot hills of the Appalachian Mountains. Hike at the nearby state parks and nature preserves. Visit the museums and fine restaurants in Portsmouth and Waverly. Enjoy that first morning cup of coffee watching beautiful sunrises from the spacious deck. Watch calves and horses frolic in the pastures. Observe numerous species of wildlife: deer, birds, squirrels, rabbits, quail, and the occasional coyote. The space Serenity in the Hills is located on 104 acres of pasture and woodlands. The grounds are teaming with wildlife, including whitetail deer, squirrels, rabbits, quail, turkey, and the occasional coyote. There are also an abundance of birds to observe including Dark eyed juncos, American goldfinch, Eastern Bluebirds, Ruby-throated hummingbirds, Morning doves, Killdeer, Canadian geese, Blue Jays, Northern Cardinal. There are four deer stands which can be used as observation posts. Watch the sunrise in the morning or star-gaze at night from the spacious second story deck. Inside the guesthouse, you will find a full-sized kitchen with a dining and living area. Also included are a laundry room and full-sized bathroom. The two bedrooms both have queen-sized beds. Serenity in the Hills is the perfect place for when you need to stay over for a personal or family occasion be it a romantic weekend, a wedding, graduation, class reunion, funeral, or if you just want to get away from it all! Other things to note The property is located on a working cattle farm. Mama cows are very protective of their calves, and one should NEVER trust a bull. Cattle are responsible for approximately 20 human deaths per year. These animals are to be viewed from a distance. Do NOT enter a pasture. Do NOT open a closed gate.
