We bought the castle at the end of 2022, we rent it whole (25 people). You can therefore enjoy 800 m2 of interior and 1000 m2 of garden for a vacation in an exceptional setting, both in terms of the historical aspect of the place and its location in the heart of the village. Description: 8 double bedrooms, (including 2 suites with small connecting rooms), 7 bathrooms, 1 shower room, 9 toilets, a large dormitory with 7 single beds. Baby cot, high chair available. Minimum 3 nights The space Everything is planned to ensure you have a pleasant stay, the castle is spacious, so you will not feel overcrowded. We have renovated the premises to gain comfort and modernity, everything is planned so that you have a good vacation and feel at home. The outdoor summer lounge serves as a shaded summer dining room with plancha, bar, refrigerator and sink. A ping pong table will be at your disposal as well as the petanque court. The pool (4 x 8 m) is secured by the gate as well as an alarm. Everything is designed to make you feel good at the castle, you will always find a housekeeping kit when you arrive. From one week of rental, a person will come for 3 hours to clean at no extra cost in the middle of the week. Wi-Fi is available with fiber throughout the castle. Guest access In the Cévennes National Park, Saint Jean du Gard is located in a strategic place that will allow you to combine visits to the surroundings: the village of Anduze 15 minutes away, nearby you can visit the bamboo grove in Cévennes, the caves of Trabuc, the magnificent red house museum is located in the village, you will also have many walks and nature hikes, swimming in the Gardon in the perimeter. The region is still preserved from mass tourism in summer, the many activities will not prevent you from finding a little tranquility. Other things to note A little history. Residence of the lords of Saint-Jean, the castle, burned by the royal troops in 1560, was immediately rebuilt and enlarged in the 17th century. A witness to history, the place is attached to the wars of religions that marked the Cévennes. Within its walls stayed the Marshal of Thoiras, the Duke of Rohan, Bâville intendant of Languedoc, the Marshal of Villars and many other illustrious characters.
