Description
We bought the castle at the end of 2022, we rent it in its entirety (25 people). You will therefore enjoy 800 m2 of indoor and 1000 m2 of garden for a holiday in an exceptional setting both by the historical aspect of the place and its location in the heart of the village. Description: 8 double bedrooms, (including 2 suites with small interconnecting rooms), 7 bathrooms, 1 shower room, 9 toilets, a large dorm with 7 single beds. Baby folding bed, high chair available. Minimum 3 nights The space Everything is planned for you to have a pleasant stay, the castle is spacious, so you won't feel promiscuity. We have renovated the place to gain comfort and modernity, everything is planned for you to have a good holiday and feel at home. The outdoor summer lounge, acts as a shaded summer dining room with plancha, bar, fridge, and sink. A ping pong will be at your disposal as well as the pétanque court. The pool (4x8m) is secured by the gate as well as an alarm. Everything is designed to make you feel at the castle, you will always find a house bottom when you arrive. From a week of rental one person will come for 3 hours to clean at no additional mid-week cost. Wifi is available with fiber throughout the castle. Guest access In the Cevennes National Park, Saint Jean du Gard is located in a strategic location that will allow you to combine visits in the surroundings: the village of Anduze 15 minutes away, nearby you can visit the bamboo garden in Cévennes, the Trabuc caves, the magnificent red house museum is located in the village, you will also have many walks and nature hikes, swimming in the roach in the perimeter. The region still remains unspoiled from mass tourism in summer, the many activities will not prevent you from finding a little tranquility. Other things to note Some history. Residence of the lords of Saint-Jean, the castle, burned by royal horses in 1560, was immediately rebuilt and then expanded in 17th century. A testament to history, the place is attached to the wars of religion that marked the Cevennes. Within its walls, stayed for the marshal of Thoiras, the Duke of Rohan, the intendant building of the Languedoc, the marshal of Villars and many other illustrious characters.
