This is mostly fireflies at nighttime and butterflies in the daytime. There are bugs, insects, geckos, frogs & dogs that makes an appearance as we are in a tropical setting. The geckos are harmless, but they do have distinctive sounds. This is part of the beauty of Kabinji. Laron (flying insects) are abundant throughout Indonesia in the wet season and are attracted to lights. We do our best to mitigate them entering the property but we advise to keep the doors closed if they are present. Kabinji is a private property and staff do not live on site and are available until 8:00pm (20:00) unless emergency. The road leading to Kabinji is shared with our neighbor, Umah Bali Kuno, a coffee plantation that offers visitors a chance to experience traditional coffee and learn about Balinese ways of life. This also means that when they are open, the road is used by their visitors. The road also provides the locals access their land to gather grass for their livestock. You’ll hear the phrase ‘cari rumput’ or ‘looking for grass’ quite often as the locals pass by. The neighbour, Pak Wayan’s cow is closeby, and he would be thrilled to show you around his farm. Being a traditional farm, he moves his cow when the grass is depleted, but you have to expect that the smell may waft over your way. Due to the location, it is advisable to have your own form of transport during your stay. We rent the Kabinji Scooter, but we can help you arrange other transportation during your stay with drivers. Gojek and Grab are accessible to/from the cabin. Parking for motorbike is in front of the cabin. For car parking, you can park on the grass beside the cabin.
