Woodland yurt in the valley
Woodland yurt in the valley
Description
Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. Our wonderful yurt is set within two acres of woodland and meadow, a short drive to nearby towns such as Totnes and Kingsbridge. The space In the yurt, which is also insulated for winter use, is a double futon and a single sofa bed. For an additional charge, either a single or double inflatable mattress can made up if you require more sleeping space. The primary use of the space is for an educational community mid-week, so alongside a table and ottoman poufs are bookcases with books, toys and games. There’s a wood burning stove for boiling water and for cooking on, although the main cooking space is with an eco stove outside. There is a compost loo and a large covered seating area next to a meadow, this contains a mud kitchen. Depending on the season, wandering around you’ll find woodland, hammocks and an orchard. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of the yurt. There's a kitchenette with fresh water from our borehole and there is a compost loo, with handwashing station. Elsewhere, in the meadow there is a fire bowl which can be used as a firepit or to cook on. The garden is shared with my family and guests from other accommodation on the site. There are occasionally daytime events there and I'll let you know if there’s one planned. Other things to note We are family friendly. Please note we charge according to beds used, so please add infants as a child guests if you need a bed made up for them. We appreciate you letting us know an approximate arrival time in advance. We have lovely neighbours, so no extremely loud music after midnight please. The yurt is up a steep slope so unfortunately it’s not a fully accessible space. We have a wheelbarrow to assist in taking up equipment. We have four cats, so you might see some of them come up. The space is also shared with very calm and content ouessant sheep, who will mostly mind their own business and who do not need to be fed apart from what's in the field.
