Casita at Retreat Center within Cochise Stronghold
Description
Take refuge at this unique sanctuary nestled in the Cochise Stronghold. This wilderness area has long been considered sacred — first by the Chiricahua Apache and later by hundreds of meditators grateful to practice in this quiet canyon. We are an open and inclusive Buddhist meditation center, welcoming individuals from all contemplative traditions and those seeking quiet and solitude. Enjoy the varied flora and fauna along miles of hiking trails where ancient pictographs can be found. The space Casita Manzanita is a private two-bedroom space in our modern eco-lodge strawbale house. It has a separate entrance, two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other with a twin bed, a full bathroom with clawfoot tub, an indoor sitting area, a patio with seating, and a full kitchen with counter seating. The kitchen is completely equipped: full-size refrigerator, oven and range, microwave oven, dishwasher, toaster oven, tea kettle, coffee maker, dishes, cutlery, glassware, and a full complement of utensils, pots and pans, etc. The Dharma Treasure Retreat Center is located on 5 acres of rugged high desert. At 5000 feet elevation, temperatures are cooler but can fluctuate wildly - from daytime 90s to nighttime 30s, depending on the season. Guest access If driving, please note that the last four miles to the retreat center is on a primitive dirt road. Depending on the time of year, there may be several washes to cross. In addition, during heavy rains, the road may be temporarily inaccessible. Free parking is available onsite. If you require transportation from the Tucson airport, we can either pick you up for an additional fee of $120 each way or provide you with other transportation service information.
