Ruth's Yurt
Description
Come and stay in my lovely yurt. It's in a gorgeous spot with a sea view, and is a beautiful, cosy space. Many people have stayed in it and had a great time, enjoying the peace and quiet and the natural world around it. We live near the coastal village of Auchencairn, on a smallholding. There is a good choice of nice coastal or hill walks nearby, the area is good for lots of outdoor activities. Licence: DG00777F The space The yurt is 16ft, fairly roomy. It is on a wooden platform with a step up into it. The access path is quite uneven and there are 4 steps (see photos). It is fenced off in its own area in the corner of our 5 acre field. There are woods behind it and an open aspect out to the sea and the hills. It is a rustic, glamping type space. Beds - There is a comfy double futon sofa bed in the yurt. There is space to make up an extra single blow up bed on the floor in the yurt. There is also space to put up a tent. More info on request. Cooking - the yurt has a 2 ring electric hob, a kettle and a toaster - there is also a 4 ring gas cooker in a small caravan next to the yurt, which has a grill and an oven. The kitchen is well kitted out in terms of pots and pans, crockery and cutlery, and should have everything you are likely to need. There is a good cool box in the yurt, for which I provide freezer blocks. You can also cook on the outside fire if you like. More info on request. Washing up is at the outdoor sink, just outside the yurt, which has mains drinking water. There is running hot water (heated by gas) in the shower room and the hand basin in the toilet. The shower and toilet block (compost toilet) is shared with one other caravan, which is in sight but not very nearby. The yurt and the caravan both have mains electricity, and electric lighting. The yurt is heated by a wood burning stove. Bedding supplied. Please bring your own towels. You have to take your things to the yurt by hand or wheelbarrow (provided). See photo of the access path. There are three steps down to the access path. The parking is by our house, about 100m from the yurt. Bring a torch, the access path is not lit at night. We don't wear outdoor shoes in the yurt so you may like to bring slippers, although it is cosy and carpeted inside. If you have a dog with you, please don't let it go on the bed or the sofa. Please note that there is not any wifi at the yurt, but we have good 4G signal here. If you would like to know anything else, just ask. Guest access You will be sent self-check in instructions with photographic directions to find the yurt. You will have the yurt and the caravan next to it to yourselves. There may be someone staying in another caravan on the other side of the field, and when there is, they share the toilet/ shower block. Other things to note Please only bring eco shower products - the soakaway goes out into the field so we only use environmentally friendly products. There are several steps up to the toilet (see photo). I'll supply one basket of firewood for the firepit/ wood burning stove, if you need more you can buy it from me, £10 a basket. One basket should be fine for a single night. If you come with a dog, please don't let them go on the sofas or the bed. Thanks.
