Single Room for Graduate & Medical Students

Ideal for a visiting graduate, medical, or PhD student Located near Downtown Gainesville, Florida, this historic home is full of charm and unique touches. About your private room: - 1st floor - Twin sized bed (rooms are strictly single-occupancy) - SHARED bathroom (door does lock) - Desk and chair - Closet with hangers, shelves, laundry basket, and space for luggage. - Individually keyed lock and deadbolt for added security. The space Our house is a large, 6-bedroom historic home with 2 shared full bathrooms (one room has a private half bath.) Bedrooms are keyed individually for security. Rooms have a desk and storage space for clothes, and room-darkening/blackout shades. Also provided in each room is a small tabletop fan, power strip, and multiple lamps. To maintain a high level of comfort and security, bedrooms are strictly single occupancy and guests are not allowed. Children and pets are not allowed, and smoking is allowed outside only, away from windows and doors. LIVING ROOM: A large living room with great light, gorgeous period fireplace (nonworking), and multiple seating areas is perfect for relaxing with a cup of coffee or a book. KITCHEN/DINING: There is one large table in the middle, and two smaller tables. Kitchen has a gas stove, pots and pans, an air fryer, toaster, microwave, oven, and blender. The refrigerator is huge. There is also a pantry with plenty of reserved/labeled storage for dry goods. Please do not store food in the bedrooms. There is a Keurig machine, drip coffee maker, and French press with electric kettle for however you prefer your coffee. LAUNDRY: A front-load washer and dryer is provided, along with detergent, dryer sheets, and an ironing board/iron. Please remove your laundry promptly as a courtesy to other guests. BATHROOMS: There is one full bath downstairs with a shower, and one full bath upstairs with a clawfoot tub/shower. FRONT PORCH: The large front porch has multiple areas with table and chairs. BACKYARD: There is a small porch off of the kitchen that steps down into a garden area with raised beds. Sometimes we have flowers, other times green beans or tomatoes. SECURITY/CAMERAS: The front door has a Ring doorbell. Our neighbors have security cameras also trained towards the shared driveway. Guest access Guests will have access to the bathrooms, living room, kitchen/dining, laundry, and outdoor areas. Free parking in adjacent private parking lot. During your stay I am frequently at the house, mostly during the day for cleaning of common areas or room turns. I will provide my cell number upon your arrival should you have any questions or concerns during your stay. Other things to note Parties and guests are not allowed. Our house caters to guests who are temporarily in Gainesville for work/study purposes. CLEANING: Common areas of the house are cleaned regularly, HOWEVER we do ask that guests do their part to keep it clean. Please wash your dishes, pots & pans, etc after you are done. As a courtesy to other guests, please clean up after yourself in the bathroom (ie, hair in the shower or sink, etc.) PLEASE do not store food in your bedroom as it will attract bugs. GARBAGE: Garbage and recycling should be taken out on Tuesday afternoon/evening, for Wednesday morning pickup. Empty bins can be brought back in on Wednesday afternoon/evening. Instructions are posted next to the garbage can.
