The apartment is up 19 stairs to the top of the building, with an added loft for one of the sleeping areas. We have a full kitchen, with electric appliances. No dishwasher or garbage disposal. There is a small bathroom off the living room, with a shower and storage areas. The bedroom has a pocket door and a full size bed. The sleeping loft has a twin bed. Guests have the entire apartment and a mudroom, storage, laundry below on the ground level with a washer and dryer. We provide two parking places outside. We welcome visitors for longer stays. We have a full kitchen. For long term medical personnel, we are within 9 miles of Murphysboro St. Joseph's Hospital and Carbondale Memorial Hospital. We are 15 miles from Union County Hospital and Choate Hospital in Anna, Illinois and also 16 miles from Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois. Our place is available for many vacation activities in our area. We have a separate laundry room for storage of bicycles and camping gear. Come home after a long hike or bike ride, and put clothes right in the laundry and go up to the apartment. We are 3 miles from SIU Carbondale, within 9 miles of Shawnee National Forest( at Giant City State Park) and 12 miles to Crab Orchard Wildlife Refuge. We are only 5 miles from the Shawnee Wine Trail. If you are coming to the area for the Little Egypt River to River trail, or the Saluki Triathlon, we are nearby and convenient for a long stay. We are in a very quiet area but not secluded. There is no public transportation in our neighborhood. Guests will need a bicycle, car, or motorcycle to get to town. Guests have a private storage area in the laundry room for their equipment. Our Wi-Fi is a broadband connection. It is not sufficient for gaming. It is good for laptop use for browsing and internet usage.
