Description
Catchers Pond is perched atop a hill with views overlooking a private pond featuring a swim platform, dock, Jacuzzi, outdoor shower, fire pit and a fruit orchard of peach, pear and apple. It is perfectly secluded and close to everything you might need for your stay being just 5 minutes outside Mountaindale. Its rustic, charming and wild. A great place to slow down, reconnect and watch seasons change. The cabin sits on 55 quiet acres with no other houses in sight. The space **WINTER ADVISORY** We recommend cars with AWD or 4WD for winter. Also, appropriate tires that have tread. We have a plowing service for our driveway but just something to keep in mind to be prepared for all conditions. Welcome to our eco cabin, If you are a looking for a little adventure but also wants some mod cons to keep you comfortable this is a great place for you! A private hotel room in the woods. We like it that way and hope you will too. It's very comfortable, cozy and has everything you need for your stay. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking including basic spices, salt, pepper, oil, foil and coffee etc. We also include mac n cheese, popcorn and organic milk for each stay :) The queen bed is very comfortable and is provided with linen sheets and the day bed is perfect for a nap during the day on its Japanese futon. There is a 3.5 cu.ft fridge to store food in which is enough for a couple of people for a few days and a chest freezer for ice and storing larger items. For that cabin vibe there is a wood fired stove, but we also have a mini split A/C and heating system which keeps the place either nice and cold during a hot summer or cozy and toasty during the colder months. Theres plenty of storage space for clothes with a walk through wardrobe/ washer dryer room. The bathroom is large and lush, with heated floors, a huge floor to ceiling window and a wood clad porthole in the shower so you can take in those views. As well the internet is Starlink and super fast with great upload speeds as well if you are working from home/ holiday. Guest access Guests have access to the cabin, fruit orchard, lake and forest tracks on the 55 acres. Other things to note -We happily welcome pets and people with children. Since we are a unique little spot with some quirks we don't specifically list the cabin as kid friendly. We leave that up to the judgement of each parent and we are here to answer any of your questions about the cabin and property to see if it suits your needs. -During the fruiting season, help yourself to the orchard :) We have peach, pear and apple. There is also a bunch of wild blueberry, black berry and raspberry around the property as well. - Cell service is pretty good at the cabin with Verizon and AT&T. T mobile can be spotty around here. Be aware that away from the cabin as you move further into the property cell service can be weak or non existent. - hot tub is available year round but the outdoor shower is available seasonly. Generally it is not open before May 15 and closes sometime in October depending on weather. - wood for the stove is provided seasonally from December till march - we don’t provide camp fire wood. The wood available is cut to size for the wood stove and is only to be used for the stove. An additional charge of $50 is applied if wood provided is used for campfires. Campfire wood is available from local has station or IGA. Also you are more than welcome to forage fallen wood on the land which there is plenty of. - the bbq is a charcoal Weber. We do not supply charcoal, it’s available for purchase at Julia’s market in Mountaindale or the trading post and citgo in Rockhill. **turtles** From mid May - mid June we get a lot of turtles nesting around the pond and sometimes near the cabin. For this reason the lawns around the pond aren’t cut until mid June to protect the turtles from being harmed or worse by a mower.
