The Village Green Retreat

A sustainable, off-grid retreat in a private location which allows you to escape from busy daily life and immerse yourself in beautiful tranquil farmland. Our self built Shepherds hut offers a large luxurious space with the modern comforts of home. King size bed with uninterrupted views, bespoke kitchen and bathroom facilities and a cosy wood burner making it the perfect space in view of the South Downs. The space This luxury space is set in a traditional Sussex scene, views of the Parishes historic churches, the majestic South Downs and stunning sunsets over Mount Caburn. Guest access Parking in the farmyard just a minute walk to the Shepherds hut on the edge of open farmland. We lock the farm gates between the hours of approximately 9pm and 7am. If you arrive and the gates are locked you can park in front of the gate on the right, leaving free access for farm vehicles. Other things to note Modern facilities are powered by solar, with a back up battery. Gas hob and shower for modern comfort whilst maintaining a low carbon footprint. Water is supplied by bore hole, although filtered you may chose to bring your own drinking water. Outside firepit to star gaze under the open night sky. Surrounded by gems of East Sussex, Glyndebourne, Charleston House, The historic town of Lewes, village of Alfriston, The Long Man of Wilmington and many more. Fantastic local village stores just a 10 minute walk by footpath and traditional Sussex local pub dating back to 1642, offering local guest real ale and home cooked food, just ten minutes walk from the shepherds hut.
