La Châtaigneraie: a quiet and charming hamlet spot

La Châtaigneraie, at the foot of the Tanargue mountain. Located in a typical Cévennes hamlet in the southern area of the Natural Park of Ardeche Mountain with an open view over southern vegetation, this house is a haven of peace that favours resting and various natural activitie: walking, treking, trailing, cross-country or road cycling, climbing, swimming in rivers, …. It is the starting point of many marked hikes and is just along the Tour du Tanargue GR. 30 mn from the main places of interest The space 500 m from the village at the top of a dead-end road, you can park your car on our private ground, then walk 150 m through the hamlet to the house : a former stone sheepfold stylishly renovated and surrounded with traditional terraces (faïsses). Downstairs, you enter a fully-equipped kitchen (dish-washer, electric oven, gas cooker, microwave oven, toaster, coffee-machine…), then a dining-room for 6 with a direct access to the outside, and a lounge with a TV set. Upstairs are the 3 bedrooms and a bathroom with shower and toilet. Depending on the season, you will enjoy the sunshine or the coolness of the shade on the terraces of the garden. This house adjoins our « La Bergerie » house (suitable for 8 persons). The entrances are independant, and each has a private outside space as their terraces do not face each other. They only share a washing-machine in an independant vaulted cellar, and the 5 parking places at the entrance of the hamlet. Both houses can be rented together to accomodate a total of 14 persons (referred to as « Un petit coin d’Ardeche » in the ads).
