Odes are elaborately structured poems describing nature intellectually as well as emotionally. Eirene is more commonly known as the personification of inner peace but also common peace. Eirene is the daughter of Zeus and Themis signifying power and peace. She is the sister of Dike and Eunomia bringing the spirit of moral order and fair judgement. Euripides, Suppliant Women 484 ff (trans. Vellacott) (Greek tragedy C5th B.C.): "How far peace outweighs war in benefits to man; Eirene the chief friend and cherisher of the Mousai (Muses); Eirene (Peace), the enemy of revenge, lover of families and children, patroness of wealth. Yet these blessings we viciously neglect, embrace wars; a man with man, a city with city, the strong enslaves the weak." Registration Details 00002212861
